Hey,
So today I finally unlocked all basic XP on 3 variants of the same mech, giving me access to elite XP and also the "2x" symbol and "efficiency doubled" comments on the basic xp boxes.
Before I completed all 3 I did a quick test in an earlier game, using a stopwatch to time my mech from a cold start, while stationery, holding all fire buttons down until heat shut down. This effectively tests both "Cool Run" and "Heat Containment". This test took 21.7 seconds to complete, by the stopwatch on my iphone.
On *the same map* I then repeated the test after I'd unlocked all 3 variants. The new test took....21.7 seconds.
I'm now expecting you folks to tell me that the "doubled efficiency" benefit has not been implemented yet. If the answer should be anything different, I'm really interested to know why my test results came out as they did.
Cheers,
A.

Last Patch Notes, regarding proficiencies:
Mech Efficiencies:
- Basic `Mech Efficiencies are now correctly doubled when Elite status is obtained. (NOTE: Elite status requires you to have all 4 Elite talents purchased for that variant).
- Fixed an issue where purchasing ‘Arm Reflex’ was actually granting ‘Twist Speed’ efficiency and vice versa.
- Fixed an issue where purchasing ‘Fast Fire’ (weapon cooldown) was actually granting ‘Pin Point’ (Weapon convergence) efficiency and vice versa.
- Fixed the ‘Fast Fire’ efficiency: This efficiency was previously working backwards. Having this efficiency previously was increasing the cooldown of weapons. Now it is properly decreasing cooldown.

You just have to get the elite skills as well. Once you have those 4, the basics will be doubled.
EDIT: Doh, damn Necro posts
