ECM suites often include the ability to muffle the magnetic signature, and other special equipment can muffle the heat signature for brief periods as well.

The Mechwarrior Reboot videos are irrelevant, they're actually for the abandoned predecessor to MWO and are not indicative of anything in MWO.

According to the Dev Blog 4, magnetometric and thermal vision modes would be tied to modules, although those early dev blogs are not necessarily reflective of what we will actually see in-game http://mwomercs.com/...e-warfare-cont/

Keeping your mech cooled down is the best way to avoid being spotted by someone with thermal vision.

But Magnavision and Thermal probably won't let you see powered down Mechs that well.

who is going to be powered down even then magnetometer detects metal so even if you are powered down you cant change from metal to plastic
well it looks like scouts wont be able to use thermal and magnetometer, while assault will have it guns on moment scout spots them.

I'm not sure you could see through a building if the metal in the building was distracting your sensors.

"Thermal optics, engaged."
They were here for some time, we shouldn't worry all that much.

So i have to pray that someone miss took giant multi ton mech for some metallic rocks (cmon they will be able to see mech silhouette)
I see this visions as abomination that can ruin game on so many ways killing tactics and other fun stuff whats the point in seeing everything
and thats for assault/defensive tree O.o so we can see Atlas scout urban area with this thing who needs scout anyway.

suffice to say, mechs can only have so many modules. If the Atlas has to use up his limited slots on magnetometric vision then that's one less slot he has to add improved AMS or calling an airstrike or any other potentially powerful ability... And the light mech he is spotting behind a wall with his magnetic vision will also be packing modules of it's own.
Magnetic vision is certainly useful but you can't call it OP until we see it, and other modules, in action. It might be the least OP module

Except for the minor problem of walls possibly being able to stop things like lasers and missles......
This isn't CoD where your shooting through a thin building wall. If you see somebody with magno in an urban area it will most likely be through an entire BUILDING, and, believe it or not, buildings do sometimes stop weapons fire.
