Somewhere between the hose length and not wanting to mess with the ceiling 230mm exhaust, I remembered how that postal PRO-USV14 used 120mm mount holes, and so it wound up as the pull-fan for the radiator. Add a left-over Noctua Low Noise Adapter, some socket-cap #6-32 x 1", and a small pile of #6 washers, and that's about as simple an install as I could'a hoped for …

I don't know about the Xeon builds, but I just converted to the dark side and have a I74790K and a new Gigabyte gaming 5 board coming today from the egg... should be interesting running my FX-8350 side by side and seeing just what this Intel rage is all about.

Well, just wanted to post my relatively standard setup nowadayz:

Asus Sharktooth z87
I7-4771 (3.5GHz std. non OC)
16GB GSkill RAM
120GB Kingston SSD (system only)
250GB Samsung EVO SSD (Games only)
3TB HDD (Storage)
Zotac GTX970 AMP! Extreme
Enermax 650W 80+ PSU
Asus 24" 1080p 2ms

Runs everything, in cluding GTA-V, with at least 30FPS on Ultra ... me is very happy with this setup :)

Cheers

Mine is proof that it doesn't require tons of hardware to run this game.

Case: Antec 300
MB: MSI PC Mate Z97
CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 OC'd @ 4.5ghz (place holder for the I5 4690k)
CPU fan: Coolmaster TX3
Memory: Team Zues Red 8gigs DDR3 1600
Graphics: Asus AMD 270x 2GB
HD: 2TB Western Digital black

I typically get around 70-80 fps in MWO. This game doesn't take much to run.

Happy gaming.

Recently rebuilt mine.

Reused items:
Bitfenix Comrade case
120gb Samsung evo 840 ssd
200gb Samsung spinpoint F1 hdd
500gb Samsung spinpoint F2 hdd
1t WD Blue hdd
600w modular Psu
Samsung 400mx3 40" widescreen monitor.
Logitech G500 mouse
Logitech G930 headphones

New items:
Samsung 850 Evo 500GB SSD (Updated with new ssd for main OS drive)
MSI Z97 Gaming 7 mobo
Teamgroup Vulcan Red ddr 3 2400mhz ram
i5 4690k (running stock speed for now)
Corsair H60 (exhaust push pull config with 2 cougar vortex 120mm pwm fans)
MSI gtx 960 2gb
2 cougar vortex 120 pwm fans (intake)

Running stock with the ram in xmp mode, I get 100fps with graphics on the highest but with only fxaa enabled.

Truth to tell, detail wise apart from extra glare and other cockpit effects (more noticeable on viridian bog),
The boost in fps is the only good thing I now see (before I would see between 25 and 50 at medium setting).

Case: Maingear Shift
Mobo: Asus Rampage V Extreme
Processor: Intel i7-5960X OC 4.375 GHz (Liquid Cooled)
RAM: 32GB Corsair Dominator DDR4 @ 2666MHz
GPU: GTX 980 Ti w/6GB
Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB

Fire Strike Score: 15135

MWO Game Play Statistics:

All Settings Max @ 1080p: 180-200 FPS (rare spike dips to 60-80 FPS did not last, major battle spikes on average 120 FPS)
CPU Temps hover around 35 Degrees C
Fan RPMs around 860-1020
GPU Temps: 41 on average (not liquid cooled) - case has phenomenal air flow.

Game play was so smooth, I can understand that if others do not have comparable settings or equipment and are shot by those who do that they could look like they are hacking; it was so easy to hold onto target with lasers, and I did not notice unregistered shots like I did when I was running a machine with all low settings, low resolution, CPU temps in the high 90-100 degree range, and barely able to maintain 20 FPS.

It's a new game for me.

Note: Playing MWO under work related loads.

For work, I run 5-6 VM Using 1 Core and 2 GB of Ram Each processing various tasks related to SQL Queries.
Also file transfers and RDP sessions to other machines in the network.

During lunch, I play a game or two while all of this running.

I saw no difference in performance.
