So I've been reading the dev blogs on combat/controls

http://mwomercs.com/...warfare-part-i/

and I've noticed that there is no mention of being able to set weapons groups to chain fire, or fire one after the other. If this is already on the forums I"m sorry, but can anyone shed some light on this.

This is a pretty commonly used setting in mechwarrior in my opinion.

Please tell me I'm wrong and it is included.

I think in one of the videos they show a pilot switching to chain fire.

Just a general reply.

I did not see anything stated about that specific feature. However, they did note that it was ONLY and overview and that it did not cover all the features that will be included.

Eh, I prefer to set weapon groups to joystick buttons anyway. Gives the game a more realistic feeling.

Setting groups to chainfire doesn't preclude assigning them to buttons.

One of the things that MW4 did very well was how it handled weapon groups.

You had six groups, and could assign any weapon to any (or multiple) groups. Then, you could either switch everything to chainfire, or individually switch any individual group to chainfire.

So, for instance, you could have 4 racks of LRM's, and assign all of them to two different groups. Then switch one of those groups to chainfire. Then you had a button which would just unload all the LRM's at once, and another button which would fire a continuous stream of LRM's while you held the button down.

I used to play with a joystick back in the day, but the mouse is so much faster for targeting etc. However, it does make me really want a gaming mouse.
