A clansman would never yield to a warrior of the Inner Sphere, he would fight until Kerensky take him, or by mechs break him.

Although when fighting a lost trial among other clansmen the option would be nice, as to conserve supplies and not waste.

In Yeilding between Clan and IS the player concerned would have to become your Bondsman or he could if he was IS be held to Ransom.
There would have to be a reason to allow Yeilding within the Canon and Lore of the MechWarrior Universe.

Between Clans it would not be an option due to the rules of Zellbrigen, a Warrior who yeilds would be in disgrace, to recoup that honor he would have to take point on the next drop. Or commit ritual sucide.

Many times a legged, or disabled mech is given the option to surrender. Most of the time the person who is down choses to continue the fight but it is not uncommon for the offer to be extended.
