Some people interpret the color purple as a color too feminine or cartoonish for a game about our big, stompy, manly robots blowing the ever-loving $#!+ out of each other.

Other people regard the color purple as the color of royalty, or the color of pimped-out rides.

How do you feel about it?

Half of us want to paint our mechs like MLP anywho, so, yeah.

I'm OK with Purple. The latest patch has the purple I chose looking less cartoonish / girlish, as well.

Nah. I'm not really into purple and especially when I need camouflage... Unless i'm in a all purple planet like in Mechwarrior 2. My Awsome-8v is already painted in black and my dragon 1c in dark blue. I'll probably paint my jenner white and black as a digital/wood camo and my hunchback... well, haven't decided for the hunchback yet...

The Free Worlds League´s capital lies in Marik space, so maybe the FWL was always purple as well. Uhrm, the Marik dynasty color was always purple, wasn´t it?

I always like the Duchy of Oriente so I´ll paint them in green, maybe a little purple to show my affiliation

Personally, I don't like how light it is, almost pink. A darker saturated purple would be nice. Maybe I should just turn my brightness down xD

So just use a darker purple. As long as it's any kind of purple, people will know where you're from.

Unlike those poor Steiners and Rasalhagues - too light or too dark a blue and people will confuse the two.
Same goes for Davion and Kurita - red vs orange

Same here. I love purple, all my mech are purple. Real, flashy purple.

I found a darker shade of purple I could live with and mixed it in with a very dark blue. It works well on the free pattern but is too muddled for the other camo patterns. will have to buy a brighter purple for those later one I guess.

I'm a big fan of the colour purple. I have quite a few purple shirts I regularly wear, and a sizeable portion of my 100+ collection of fountain pen inks falls into the purple category. I usually have one of my pens inked up with one of those purples, currently it's the absolutely gorgeous Yama-Budo from Iroshizuku. And of course all of my Mechs' paint jobs contain at least a bit of purple as well.

I've got the Marik Militia colors on my Spider -- Pleione as primary, Manganese as secondary, and Crimson as tertiary. You could do Crimson as secondary, but at least on the Spider it's way too prominent and makes you miss the blue altogether. You could also go with Edo as primary if you prefer a slightly darker purple color. Unfortunately, the colors cost 1,000 MC each.

In my view, deep purple is a strong color and represents royalty.
