If given the option would you switch to a Clan faction once we hit the clan invasion?

Yes, I plan on joining ghost bear as soon as possible, grabbing a mad dog and unleashing hell.

Being a hardcore merc, I love clan weps and electronics, but i prefer me my inner-sphere warhorses.

Absolutely. I am Clan by choice (Warden, specifically), regardless of the mech I end up piloting.

I have always played as Clan or Clan Merc Corps in PC versions of MechWarrior. I lhave always favored Clan Mechs and Clan Technology simply because it was the best available in MW3 and MW4, which is what I played most recently. I have never liked stock IS game play and really have no use for it.

That said I am concerned that if they create strict in-game divisions between Clan and IS and their technologies as in the books that it will create a significant imbalance in the PvP aspect of the game. If they attempt to bring balance, by reducing Clan Technology to be equal to IS during the same period in BT history, that would be worse than allowing everyone to have access to all technologies. The Clan Invasions are going to present some very real challenges for the Devs to address in order to maintain the balance of the game and be true to the BT timeline. It will be interesting to see how they decide to address these issues as the game progresses. For the purposes of MWO I do not see how things can be practiaclly balanced without some measure of deviation from the BT storyline in some way.

Exactly Signum, clans if generally released will instantly be full of excited puppy-like teens hopping up and down yapping about madcats ;)

The clan arrival poses a significant problem for the MWO owners. To be true to the universe, they have to exist and be stupidly OP plus sovergeinty of various areas *must* change to clan. Against that, they have a PvP product and no-one pays to play a victim getting kerb stomped repeatedly. The playing public know all this and the first wiff of unfairness will start a mass exodus - meaning less revenue and a pile of clan players with no opposition queuing. I really wish them luck getting it to work but it'll be tough.

Edit: the poll questions are fairly telling of the OPs bias in this one. 'dare'? Right, how about you re-phrase that.

No way, no how. Just judging by people I've seen on the board/forums most of the 'Clanners' aren't the type I'd want to associate with. There are some exceptions but for me? No.

I'll stick with my House until my Periphery state opens up. If ever.

Word of Lowtax technology predates and is superior to puny Clan tech in every way.

I predict that Clan mechs will be a magnet for those with poor self esteem.
