Assuming it goes by strictly by canon? then I'd possibly join Hell's Horses.

mostly because they dont like Ghost Bear.

but thats assuming what we do has no impact on things like FRR getting formed into an abomination.

The only things the Clans are going to get from me is a nice 'Kick Me' sign courtesy of my Raven's NARC Beacon.

InB4 Grem.

Term you want is Clansman, not Clanner.

Yes, I plan to switch to The Clans as soon as they are made available.

Having come to Battletech through Aerotech 2, my loyalty lies forever with my Clan. Although that may mean if I want to play a representative of my clan before, oh, 2033, I may have to join up with.... the Jade Falcons.

sigh

I have always played as Clan or Clan Merc Corps in PC versions of MechWarrior. I lhave always favored Clan Mechs and Clan Technology simply because it was the best available in MW3 and MW4, which is what I played most recently. I have never liked stock IS game play and really have no use for it.

That said I am concerned that if they create strict in-game divisions between Clan and IS and their technologies as in the books that it will create a significant imbalance in the PvP aspect of the game. If they attempt to bring balance, by reducing Clan Technology to be equal to IS during the same period in BT history, that would be worse than allowing everyone to have access to all technologies. The Clan Invasions are going to present some very real challenges for the Devs to address in order to maintain the balance of the game and be true to the BT timeline. It will be interesting to see how they decide to address these issues as the game progresses. For the purposes of MWO I do not see how things can be practiaclly balanced without some measure of deviation from the BT storyline in some way.

I personally do *NOT* want to join a clan/group of clanners, I'm freeborn Davion Merc all the way. However, Grizz brings up a good point...

expect to find me pounding ground in a jade falcon mech as soon as possible. Somebody has to eventually crush the innersphere. Why not me?

They could put in some kind of point system to control drops. So when clan fights IS they might have less players to balance their tech edge.

Word of Lowtax technology predates and is superior to puny Clan tech in every way.

I predict that Clan mechs will be a magnet for those with poor self esteem.

I am not going to declare ... I will say I will never be a tubie/tank/dish baby. I like the idea of playing with their tech provided it is implemented and accessed in what I believe is a sensible way. If it is too accessible then I'd probably lose interest in the game fairly quickly.

I plan to stay loyal to House Davion.

There will probably be a lot of people that switch to the Clans, so some of us have to stay loyal to the Inner Sphere.

I like the idea of clans in the game, but they don't fit very well in game just because most of the people who want to be associated with clans don't share their unique honor system.
Great mechs nerfed with giving free disadvantage to the opposing force. If the clan side was forced to issue batchall aganst freeborn scum, I could be persuaded to play with them then. On the freeborn side of course. ;)

Whenever the clans come to MWO, I will probably be looking for something new to play. MWO will probably be old news by then.

So, yeah. I would go that route. Clan heavies are my favorite mechs anyway.

Deffinately gonna join up with the clans when they arrive, and I think the easiest way to balance things is to release "experimental" weapons like MRM/ATM's and X lasers, only available on IS units, to help combat the flood of "Ooh, clan is new, everyone switch to it!".

simply no... clan mech design just bores me... their tech is superior but its way more top heavy and expensive plus im a tabletop player so for the price of 1 dire wolf you could field almost a full lance of inner sphere mechs and overwhelm that unit

I will never betray my nation to join a faction that obviously slept with the GM to get a bunch of overpowered toys. B)
