So my HD 7970M card has delayed my laptop from being built, and now I'm second guessing what I want. Everyone says that the increased gamut screens are where it's at, but that they need to be properly calibrated.
I've got no clue on how to calibrate a screen properly, and from what I gather, you need specific programs and the like to do so.
Would it be worth my while to upgrade the screen anyways? Pretty much I want MWO to look as awesome as possible as this machine is being setup to play it on ultra settings with all the FX on full blast wherever I go.

I don't think you're going to really need a 95% color gamut display, unless you're doing some serious gfx design. if you're just going to game, invest your money into what's under the hood, b/c most 1920x1080 displays are going to be more than sufficient anyway.
what sort of laptop are you having yourself built?

good stuff. definitely more than sufficient for MWO, especially with the 7970M.
and yeah, you might as well just go for core i7-3720QM instead of the 95% gamut screen, if you were planning on spending the extra money anyway.. can't hurt to have the extra performance.

As said, the Gamut is really only any good if you're going to be doing photo editing or other imaging design. Your money is best spent elsewhere.
