Ya played TT just like half a dozen times, always took a long time cus we were all newbs. Played the clix a bit too but it was way too expensive, and you were gambling on what you were gonna get. We should actually post our locations on our profiles to help newbs out and grow the passion even more.
One more thing has anybody seen that RoboJox or RoboJocks movie, saw it in a video store once but not since. Is it about mechs?

Robot Jox
It's been a while since I saw it. It was "okay" when I watched it years ago. I'm sure if I watched it now though I would not be impressed.

Played it in the late 80's. BattleTech and Mechwarrior (the RPG). Also played the AeroTech expansion for Space combat. Plus even played the armada version (forget the name). Then we moved on to Centurion, the other FASA game based on Grav Tanks. Then played Circus Maximus, the offshoot of Centurion. Then played ShadowRun, the other game by FASA. Then Mechwarrior I, II, III, and IV (plus expansions) on the PC. Then bought and tried to play the Mechwarrior Miniatures.

Read about a dozen or two BT and MW novels, as well as watched some of the episodes of MW the cartoon series. Also read the few Centurion books and about a dozen ShadowRun books.

So, yeah....a little.

I love the tabletop honestly I just couldn't resist the troll post earlier.

Anyway been playing for only a couple of years, pretty much 3025 exclusively.

Getting ready to start playing 3049 based matches in MegaMek. [I've got no one to play the actual tabletop with these days, and my CBT Intro box set got stolen, along with all my 40K mini's]

Anyway I just watched Robot Jox lastnight, great movie... even if it is kinda a fail film... it's a fun watch.

Yes, I still have some of the plastic minis from '92, all of the old TROs and whatnot, a LAM, and three original BattleMasters (2 metal, 1 plastic). And everything that happened after the Fourth Succession War should be retconned.

;)

Since 96. The last game that I played was probably 2 years ago though, but still consider myself someone that is still looking to play the game, just don't have the people around to play against.

The 25th anniversary box set is open sitting against my foot as I type this, with my Jade Falcon sourcebook staring up at me from inside, tempting me to peruse its worn pages. I have so much love for this game.

I first started playing the TT game just after I got out of the Army, back in '86... started collecting the minis, and decided, "Why just collect them? Let's use them to play!. So... I ended up building a 6 ft by 8 ft table to play BT on. I used styrofoam hexes (4") I bought from GHQ to make the base, and cut 1" think hexes out of green styrofoam for hills. No tape measures, just pure BT straight into 3D... Some of the FUNNEST gaming times were spent playing BT! Then sold all of it, after 6-7 years. (Yes, kicking myself in the arse now!)

I still have the 6'x8' table, and just bought the boxed starter set! Now for buying all the minis again, and painting them... (The "finance commitee" has given her approval!). I can't wait to start playing again. MWO will be a VERY welcome change after playing WOT for a year.

Originally introduced to a friends copy of Battledroids with the card mechs circa 1985. Been a Battletech/Mechwarrior fan ever since.

I dropped out of regular gaming due to tertiary education commitments as a mature aged student, but I'm definitely looking forward to MWO.

And for old times sake recently purchased the 25th anniversary Starter Set.
