I would think that the fire control computer in my Mech would allow me to chain fire my lasers, two at a time.

How about this one. I'm trying to fire 8 light/medium lasers like chain fire but two at a time and I can't figure it out.

4 weapon groups for the lasers, with two in each.
So group 2,3,4,5 each have 2 lasers.

Then a Fire Sequence of 2,3,4,5

Quote

Also, how would you do two guns and two lasers?
Pew pew, bang, bang?
No seriously, not sure what you mean by this, please elaborate.

I set up just like the video In OP. But when I fire (3x AC2), there Is a pause after the 3rd gun fires. Has something changed with cycle time till fire again ? It fires the 3 in fast sequence, but the pause after 3rd, sort of nullifies the rapid fire usefulness.

Thanks

EDIT: my guess is it wont fire again until cool down or something has past, AC5 do same thing. Even though red line is returned to 0, still wait time for it to fire.

When there is a pause, is there an AC2 ready to fire?
If you set the Fire Rate too low, then this is what would happen.

yes, it is exactly like the video at bottom of OP post, except on a Marauder 3R.

by ready to fire, I assume you mean the red bar is back to nothing, but I'm holding down the fire button, should I keep clicking it instead ?

Try setting the Fire Rate higher - eg set it to 500

Then, if that works, keep lowering Fire Rate until it stops working.

What, you firing those one at a time?

Have you tried 3xAC5, 2xAC2 ? Fire the 2xAC2s together, so:

5,5,5,2x2 ~ @250ms

That way, each volley is about the same (5,5,5,4)

4xAC5 could hit GH, but this wont because you have a 500ms gap after every 3rd AC5 shot.

[Edit] Looking at smurfy's it seems AC5s no longer have GH? When did that happen?

I'm not actually, when I set it to a value around 250, it always shoots slow, as if I was single tapping each one every .6 seconds just about, the same speed that I normally spam click. For some reason when I put it at 60, they fire much quicker than usual. And they are in different groups, and I did reboot the program, and I did so before loading a match.

I will have to try that though, however the 4 AC/2 puts up enough dakka to have fun in, and I don't have to worry about ammo usually, I run out of AC/2 ammo before I do of the 5s.

I wish I owned a mech that had that many AC slots.

You will! Just try and keep up with the events that happen every so often and you can get the Mauler MX-90!

If you want, I'll drop with you on my alt and help work my tier 2 magic into your tier 5 :P

In MWO, if you try to press the same key twice within ~250ms, then often it does not register.

So, if you have a fast fire rate that repeats the same fire group, create two groups that both fire the same weapon and alternate between the two groups.

ie with 4xAC2, you could not get a fast fire rate just by having a Fire Sequence of 1. You would need to have a fire sequence of 1,2 or 1,2,3

Oh wait.... I forgot to mention, even if I held clicked or spam click, it fired slow when mms was greater than 160

When I set it to 60, and held click, they were firing at a rate of that of UAC/5s when spammed clicked with chain fire.

Why on earth would you use a rate of 60? You would need 12xAC2s to be able to fire @ 60!

An AC2 fires at 720ms by default.

720 / 4 weapons = 180

180 is the chain fire rate for 4xAC2

So I would recommend:
All AC2s in groups 3,4,5,6, and all those groups in chain.
Fire Sequence of 3,4,5,6
Fire Rate of 180

You may be able to get away with only using 3 or even 2 groups though, I dunno.

I'll need to record this when I get back to show you what's going on with it.

Hey EvilC,

Thanks for the little program! I have a small problem, maybe someone here can help. Not all of my profiles show up in the "profiles" tab but they appear to be present in the configuration settings file called "firectrl". Here's an image to illustrate. Wut I do wrong?

^^solved.

Although the profiles were present in the "firectrl" configuration file they weren't listed under "adhd_profile_list". After finding the correct delimiter and naming scheme I was able to manually add the profile names to the configuration file. Now they populate in the profile drop down.

God, I would love to have a Bane, and enough control groups to chain fire the ACs individually.

What do you want to use the hold for? Fire Control has one toggle (Press to hold, press again to release), it is called "TAG toggle", but it works good for machine guns too.

I think it may have been because I had 7 instances of Firectrl running, each was used to create a profile. Just user error. :P
