well, i watched the videos and looked at several of the screenshots, and just my opinion, with the trees, hills, mountains, its going to be hard to get a lock on a jenner going like a bat out hades and using cover, almost every screenshot or video its hard to get los at any great distance, so your missile boats are going to need spotters, add in i noticed that enemy location faded as the light mech left area of ops, so that helpsd . and if all else at least with a light jump mech theres dfa

I hope you are right. I hope we see all mech weight catagories equally represented. I hope the devs are able to come up with some new ideas that will change the dominance of the Assaults.

personally Im hoping that I will have the option of having a mech from each weight class in my hanger because I will want to change up my game play style now and then.

Perhaps the devs will require players to field their team based on tonnage, say 500 tons among the maximum of 12 players - that averages approximately 41 tons each. So, to form lances with specific missions will require the teams to distribute the tonnage around to make them the appropriate mix for a given role. Scout Lance with ravens and cicadas supporting both a harasser and either (or mixed) "assault" or "fire support" lance - while the harasser lance is mediums and heavies, then the assault/fire support lance with heavies and assaults. 500 is just a suggestion, I usually never fielded more that a 9 man team with up to 750 tons available. (that tonnage was only seen during planetary assaults)

And you assume there won't be a problem. The facts are that games have problems and many of these problems stem from poor design or insufficent development time. The fact is that developers make promises that they don't hold to, sometimes its their fault and sometimes its not; but the fact is games ship without promised features.

Now, if you parse this through what we have been promised with what has been really said and I don't think you are going to see this Utopia of Battletech so many of you expect. I am cautioning you to be skeptical. Again, I hope I am wrong; but I think I am more right than wrong.

It will not balance itself out. Look at World of Tanks, its not balanced, look at so many FPS games which remain imbalanced, look to so many MMOs with imbalances. The facts are that games are not perfect and I for one plan to find this games weaknesses and stay far away from them. You do as you wish.

First I don't expect this game to be perfect but at the same time I don't expect it to be total **** the way you seem to. You assume that the game is going to be horribly unbalanced and so you are just lumping yourself into the unbalanced side, that is NOT the way to make sure it doesn't happen. Why even bother playing with that attitude?
