Meh. T-Wolf always got to me. Froom what I read it wasn't actually common. It said clan Wolf pretty much hoarded it and kept production to one facility on Stranha Mechty. The T-Wolfs in any other clan were salvage or traded for. Yet it shows up everywhere in TT, books, and games.

I always loved my Warhawk. It was basically Smoke Jaguar's version of clan Wolf's T-Wolf. It was rare, damn effective, and other clans only got it through salvage. In games and TT you rarely saw it too. It also wiped the floor with the T-Wolf, which I always enjoyed.

Until the invasion of the Clans the Timber Wolf has only been produced from one factory on Strana Mechty. And it seems like Clan Wolf has a corner on some of the most iconic Clan 'Mechs. The Dire Wolf is also a Clan Wolf exclusive. The Gargoyle and Naga were less known and less sought after products of the Wolves.

And don't forget the Horned Owl, Icestorm and Vapor Eagle!

Ouch, of course! How could I forget them? Countless lines in the Rememberence refer to those awesome pieces of engineering.

I've got my fingers crossed for a Conjurer sooner than later, myself. I'll have to wait for the Clan invasion, of course, but it's been in production forever, so hopefully it'll be in earlyish.

A list of the 3050 Omnis and what invading clans used them the most. Most of the 3050 designs are found in every clan as isorla/salvage/ or low numbers. These are just the clans that use them a lot.

Fire Moth - Ghost Bear
Mist Lynx - Smoke Jaguar
Kit Fox - Jade Falcon
Adder -
Viper - Ghost Bear
Ice Ferret - Wolf
Nova -
Stormcrow - Smoke Jaguars
Mad Dog -
Hellbringer - Jade Falcon?
Summoner - Jade Falcon
Timber Wolf - Wolf
Gargoyle - Wolf
Warhawk - Smoke Jaguar
Executioner - Ghost Bear
Dire Wolf - Wolf and Smoke Jaguar

Summary of common designs for invading clans:
Jade Falcon: Kit Fox, Adder, Nova, Hellbringer, Summoner
Ghost Bear: Fire Moth, Adder, Viper, Mad Dog, Executioner
Wolf: Adder, Nova, Mad Dog, Timber Wolf, Gargoyle, Dire Wolf
Smoke Jaguar:Mist Lynx, Adder, Nova, Stormcrow, Mad Dog, Warhawk, Dire Wolf

Again, through salvage, etc. Most designs are found in all invading clans, just not very common. But I gotta go with Smoke Jaguars getting the best of the iconic designs. But that's also because I'm not a big T-Wolf fanboy and SJ sports the Warhawk

Im looking forward to the Timber Wolf, but not the Mad Dog. The Mad Dog has always been a poor-man's Timber Wolf. It has similar base weapons, but with 15 extra tons, the Timber Wolf has much more balanced weapons, giving it all-round capability.

as an Omnimech, I cant wait to see Jump-jet Timber Wolfs with long range weapons and high speed showing them why the clan are the strongest!

Given how the developers described it, I would be genuinely surprised if T-Wolf can mount JJ. I'm not sure, since they only covered battlemechs, not omnis.

But the rule I've heard is if no JJ by default, they can't be added

Love the Timber Wolf, but for some reason I always kicked more butt in a Summoner with a big Clan HUAC in MW4.

The Madcat Pryde and the Madcat S mounted JJs. If they let Omnis mount jets then I hope that there is a significant heat cost.

cant say i agree with you on that one...Mad Dog can hold its own depending on the varient and how you use it in the battlefield....true that the timber wold is better balanced but in my opinion i think the Mad Dog can hold its own against a Timber Wolf

Am i the only one whos favorite clan mech is the cougar? i think its the best light ever (yes more than the trashcan) and it has a pretty neat design to it too.
My second favorite would have to be the vulture
My third would have to be Uziel

Btw the Mad Cat is a WAY bigger target than the Vulture, and guess who the enemy will shoot first? YOU mr. madcat

And what about the Kodiak of the Ghost Bear? Another dangerous and iconic design...

March 3050 the Offensive starts... 3049 some preperation is done in the periphery...

Just to get more Detail on this.

In August of 3049, the Inner Sphere began to hear of mysterious invaders using advanced technology, beyond that of even the Star League, in the reaches coreward of the Free Rasalhague Republic. Small periphery realms disappeared from contact and mercenary units were annihilated (including a detachment from the elite Kell Hounds). In March of 3050, the invaders struck at the Inner Sphere proper.

No Omni Mech therefore a Second Line Mech for Solama Units. But to be honest I do also like the Kodiak.

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Kodiak

Able to run at 64.8 km/h, the Kodiak is a relatively fast Assault 'Mech. With seventeen and a half tons of Compound 12A2 armor, incredible firepower, and twenty double heat sinks, it is a successful blend of defense, fire-power, and speed. The Kodiak incorporates the Garret L20 as its communications system, and uses the RCA Instatrack Mark IX for targeting.

The Kodiak's primary armament consists of devastating short-range weaponry; namely the single Series II Ultra AC/20 occupying its entire right side of its torso, and twin Streak SRM-6s situated in the left side of the torso. These powerful weapons enable the Kodiak to savage any foe, but care must be taken with the limited ammunition at the MechWarrior's disposal. The 'Mech supplements its primary weaponry with eight Series 2a ER Medium Lasers, four above each hand set into a claw-like array. The ER Medium Lasers, powered by the fusion power plant, provide hefty firepower long after the ammunition bays have run dry. While the Kodiak is a cruel opponent close up, it is far from defenseless at long-range; mounted directly beneath the engine is a Series 7k ER Large Laser, allowing it to soften up targets as it advances for the kill.

Oh and just to bring a little Quiz in here. TRO 3050.

"What weighs ninety-five tons, can run at more than 80 kilometers per hour, can jump 120 meters and carries a Gauss rifle?"

"I don't know, but I'm getting out of here!"

Clever, that's the first few lines of the description of that mech from TRO 3050. It's name is also the title of a Russell Crowe movie:)

Personally I'm hoping I'll get the opportunity to pilot a Cauldron-Born. It and the Timber Wolf are my two favorite Clan mechs. (I was introduced to the universe through Mechwarrior 2, so naturally I grew up loving the Timber Wolf.)

It's too bad we're about 80 years away from the Dark Age era... because I would love to pilot a Wulfen in a game.
