During the time period set at launch, I prefer the Locust (20 tons), Jenner (35 tons), Phoenix Hawk (45 tons), Hunchback (50 tons), or Warhammer (70 tons), depending on the mission and my role in that mission. I believe the Phoenix Hawk, my favorite, allows the greatest flexibility.

I'm in a hell of a toss-up.. I generally prefer heavier mechs, but doing the Command role it'd be better maybe that I not take up valuable tonnage in the deployment. Given that, while I like the Raven, I'd prefer a Hermes. Little heavier in the arms and armor, as I've understood it.

Centurion, I think it's the most suited mech for me from those that were announced. I may change my preference when I actually play the game though.

As for my favorite mech of all time, it's the Solitaire. A very fast light mech that can do some damage as well. But since it was only built in 3064, I guess I'll have to wait some time for it.

Sadly not announced and doubt it will ever be in the game, but I would love to run around in my energy weapon decked out Templar.

I'm leaning toward medium or heavy mechs, but haven't picked a particular one. My MechWarrior experience is limited to single-player MW2 and a little single player MW4:Mercs, but I've learned that I like a ballistic load-out with enough beams to stay effective when I run out of ammo and hate missiles, though if MWO handles them better (or I L2Play), I may change my mind on them.

If my experience in any other multi-player games can be taken into account (I'm an old school Tribes player who got disgusted with Tribes:Ascend pretty quickly), a balance of speed and armor (medium armor in Tribes) and the ability to hit things like a 12 pound hammer (grenade launchers, mortars, shotguns and the like) while being right in the mix is what I'll go for. My favorite weapon of all time is the UT Flak Cannon (who doesn't love a shotgun/grenade launcher combo?). I'm happy to play O or D.

So, with all that in mind, I'm leaning toward the Hunchback, but if anyone has any advice, I'd be more than happy to listen.

Marauders all day, Marauders erryday. I like to wake up and climb right into the cockpit of my big spindly chicken monster, strap on that neurohelmet and feel the sensation of having huge-bore laser guns for arms. It's better than sex. Up on my shoulder I have the biggest gun I could find. It doesn't matter what it is, rotary autocannon, rocket launcher, just another huge-bore laser, Marauders don't give a damn. You just take the biggest thing in your garage that shoots things out one end of itself and weld it on.

You want an ammo-independent campaigner? Marauder. Heavy jumpjet scout? Marauder. Forget your mother's birthday? Buy her a Marauder. BV-efficient mech with good heat management? Get the hell out of here, all we have is these rad-looking Marauders! They come in Unseen, Reseen, and Obscene. Yes, they make rude gestures without any hands. How? With lasers, that's how. Are you having trouble covering your Lasik? Buy some of these ******* Marauders. We have them in every color. We have them in colors you've never heard of and probably never should. You can't turn back once you've crossed the threshold, but you can sign on the dotted line for a three-month lease. I need this money. The rent here on Keres is insane. I have a family. Please buy a Marauder.

I'll throw in a Locust. Two Locusts. I know a guy who does double heat sinks and he can have that thing running cool in no time. Well, reasonably cool. You'll be able to heat bracket it and actually do some damage. Tell you what, I'll even take that rust bucket Urbanmech in trade. I can't even give these things away since the Harmony Gold incident. Do you know what it costs to change one of these assembly lines to make a different mech? More than it costs to sack and replace twenty of me. Please, sir. Please buy one of my Marauders.

I have always liked the look of the Rifleman, but the closest that I see that will be available is the Jagermech so thats the one for me. However, I will modify it asap with more(max) armor even if that means all machine guns.

Hata-moto, i think its the chi with 2 PPCs and 2 SRM6s. Don't feel like looking for the book to be sure. Big mech , big armor, good speed ( for an assault.) and it looks pretty cool.

If there was gonna be hand to hand then the axe man is a walking nightmare, and even with out the axe it is The urban attack machine.

Both would be suitable for kicking my little poneys to death, burning my little poneys to death or blowing my little poneys to bloody, quivering shreds!

Also a rifleman with 4 large lasers and extra heat sinks. I call it my killjoy variant.

After getting into MW4:Mercs I've been enjoying the Thug a lot. I think if my Warhammer doesn't make the cut then that's what I would look for next.

Same boat, love the Thug, hope it makes it. Warhammer rocks to but it is one of those that cannot be named hehe. Personal Favorite is the Marauder and if they included it, they couldn't pry me out of that mech.

Hm... first I would try some rockets with the Catapult.
Later.. maybe the Atlas to blast someone down.^^

But I remember my favourite one was from Mechwarrior 4 - Mercenaries... the Mad Cat Mk II.

I loved it.

Well, sadly, my favorite mech is a LONG time in coming. The Arcas, which is sadly designed by the Clans. GRR. For now I'll settle for working in the lab to build one.

The only current mech I would take is the Marauder. Which is out there, but not here. AAAAHHHH! Curses.
