this might belong to Q&A but i would like to know, is there going to be core overload explosion ?
for example in MW3 playing with daishi loaded with energy weapons made it go BOOM when firing them all at once and taking nearest enemies with you. might be tactical advantage when using it correctly. but should you be rewarded for it... im not sure.

so theres a nice thread for a little chitchat. tell me what you think.

No, stackpoling as it is called due to the BT Author Michael Stackpole is VERY hard to pull off in BT. It requires safety overrides, etc.

It is a neat effect, and can be good visually for a game, but it should be very rare when it happens, and you should not be rewarded for it.

But you can still get yourself flying by getting heat too high. It's hard to pull off (ovrriding, or shooting like crazy with a laser boat), but when you get destroyed, no nuke effect will be, you'll just probably get ejected and hope you don't destroy your mech next time. ;)

in MW3 that detonation left huge crater behind. :D i think it might be cool effect if the damage to others is minimal.

i dont know about the system in game because i havent seen it in action but in videos.... but i was thinkin about nice little fight and suddenly enemy goes boom because of heat. that would add a little "player skill" element in to the game too if you would be able to override overheat alarms to the spot it goes critical. could this be a skill in game perhaps ?

Are you talking about exploding your ammo-less mech because of just overheating too much, i hope not. There is no such reason in TT rules. But if you have ammo inside and you overheat too much your ammo should explode and that should kill you. All the heat scales make you Shutdown the mech till you cool down vs exploding your mech's engine. Shutdown is bad enough penality for severe overheating. We don't know yet the truth on this.

yes i exacly mean ammoless mech detonation. in MW3 mech exploded because of massive heat generation and i believe it was the core of mech that exploded. that explosion was massive but very useless in single player. only few mechs were able to fire enough energy weapons to be able go off at once.

Well that was the MS video game MW x rules. Hopefully MWO does not do that.
