Will you be able to purchase it during open beta?

Probably not, My guess is it will be available for purchase up until roughly the end of July when I am guessing everyone will get access, but they easily could just take it until Launch. My guess it it will probably be when everyone gets access and open beta starts.

That would be what would be good for the customer base. I am hoping this is the way they take so they don't get people that buy a founders pack then find they do not have the computer to play the game. Or find that they very much dislike the way PGI made it play.

Yeah, that's what I'm hesitant about. I don't want to drop $60 bucks on the game and then play it for a day only to figure out it's unsatisfying to me. I really hope they let you buy it still in the open beta.

I would expect that it would only be purchasable up until July 17th, since this period as the game is coming out is the 'founding' in a sense. However, it sounds from some of the responses here like it would be a good idea to continue it - or offer something similar, at least - until the game actually goes "live" (out of beta).

I would imagine that the pack would be available until shortly after the game actually launches, say.. a month? I don't believe the devs want to create a catch-22 for those who are interested but want to make sure. I think if they want to sell packs and have a solid "founders" base that they're going to sell it until shortly after launch. That allows those who want it now to get it now and those who want a chance to play it first aren't left out in the rain. It only makes sense. For the sake of good initial sales, this makes the most sense.

I really hope they would continue it. I think the beauty of the free to play model is that I can try it out and then if I enjoy the game I can decide to throw some money at it. Now I'll admit I've spent $60 on worse things before, but it seems like if I have the oppertunity to try soemthing before buying it is definately in my best interest to do so. And if I like it I will spend my money on it. Conversely it seems like it would be in Piranha's interest to continue selling the founders pack at least for awhile after the general launch to take advantage of people thinking like me.

I couldn't agree more. While I will buy it day one (I'm impatient like that), I definitely understand wanting to try it first. That's one of the largest benefits of F2P. As someone who enjoys spending on F2P games to support the developers, I generally want to get a real taste before I spend. Once it's something I know I'm enjoying, my wallet comes out. XD I'd rather spend $200 on a well-built F2P game than $60 on a crappy game that won't receive any support because they don't have a constant cashflow.

Yep, I have put money into several F2P games, such as WOT, STO, shaiya, EQ2 extended, LOTR, D&D online, EVE to name the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Then there are ones like connan online, runes of magic That I would have been very disappointed if I spend money on them. Although I like most MW games you never know in tell you try them.

I might be weird but I would buy the founders pack the instant it goes on sale, this game could be a giant steaming pile and I would still do so, simply because it is in the BT universe....

Hell, I bought cases of those stupid clicky mechs when dark age was released, I still have the complete set of fluff novels.... Even 2 copies of sword and dagger..... It is BT, it's like crack.

I would really love to be able to jump on closed beta the instant I purchase a founder pack. Heck, if I'm a founder I want to help on the foundation of this beast.
