I searched for that question but i found only issues on Xbox controller or Xbox One in general. Please move or delete this topic, if this question is already answered!

Main Question: MWO on XBOX One?!

A dream or a nightmare?
(Would you like it or not?)

A nice technical challenge or impossible to build up?
(Developer statment on that would be great or just include it on "Ask the devs", thx)

I really dont have a final judgement on this...

That was a rather specific generalization

Why get a xbone? PS4 is cost less and has superior hardware specs.

If specs are all that matters to you why would you even touch a console?

Edit: btw, Xbone > PS4

All console users should give up and stop holding back game development for all game developers with their limited and outdated hardware sets.

IF it happened, I'd more than likely play it. But then again, IF it happened, it would probably be after launch.

i really wonder if it would be easy to transfer the game after launch on Xbone? I heard about the "windows/x86" similar design, but what time span would be realistic?

and the other thing: would one play on the same servers? Xbone users playing with controller? now i know what the 3PV was for!

with all three platforms (XBone, PS4, PC) being the same x86 architecture, i would assume it would be a matter of a couple months only to make a port for the consoles or from the consoles. I dont even get why Bungie did not already confirm Destiny for PC, since i see no difficulty to port this game onto PC whatsoever.

But, of course, i dont know jack of these things so take everything with a whole mine of salt.

Considering the size of the eventual XB1 market PGI would be insane not to do so. You know once they fix everything.

Because they own the IP which PGI licensed to make the game?

It wouldn't surprise me at this point, PGI is money hungry and they've already made terrible decision after terrible decision

To be frank, you're very short-sighted. If those 50,000 screaming whining 10 year-olds get to like this game, the better. It will mean a longer lifespan for MWO and more Mechwarrior players in the future. It will ensure the continued viability of this franchise. So what it we have to put-up with their blabbering nonsense and complaints? Just PPC-Gauss them into smithereens as a reply.

My first instinct is just to say "you'll have better luck running MwO on a pocket calculator. . it has more processing power than the failbox !!!111oneoneone or PoS4".

I say that because I'm a PC elitist [redacted] that has no use for what [to me] is brand new 5 year old components.

To be more serious about it, however, you need to remember that console games are very optimized for that specific hardware. Because there's only one set of hardware [all consoles of any given brand have the same processor, gfx, etc] game developers can custom optimize their software once and be done with it.

And let's face it, they haven't even begun optimizing the game for PC yet! Honestly, forget about it, don't give the devs any more bad ideas. . . . they're behind enough as it is

This game as we know it now simply would not be successful in a console format.

Console players are accustomed to shooters that are much faster paced and less complex. These 2 reasons where why MechAssault was fairly successful on consoles and also why it is generally disliked by MechWarrior fans.

its not console players, its nearly all the current gamers.

MechAssault was succsessfull cause it was something different and something that was fun.

i doubt that microsoft would allow PGI to release the game for the XBOXone in its current state, it would need to be fixed first, and we all know how PGI tries to fix things, we still have a HUD that has higher system requirements than the game itself and so on.

I kind of doubt it. As I understand it, if a multi-platform game is ported to Xbox live, MS's policy is that the port runs exclusively on thier own servers. (i.e. PSX and Xbox players may both get a game like Destiny, but they can't play together on the same servers) The one and only exception to this policy was Final Fantasy XI, and that was never really profitable since it had been available for PC and PS2 for years. I'm not sure how it would affect PGI, but it would certainly mean less control over their own product.
