In previous topics concerning this, not much thought has been given to seperating arm controls from the "look" function typically mapped to a hat. As someone who used that to hide crit spots and shoot to the side with just arms, it would be great to have more control. That is to say it would be nice if you could bind it to an axis for a mini j/s for PRECISE control rather than the binary approach of previous games ( arms either forward or fully extended to the side ). So many people are investing in high end rigs with much more capability than ever before and PGI is even hopping on the controller bandwagon with Razer that this cannot be the first time the idea has been discussed (publically).
But, lets see how you, the player feel about it, rather than just slap it in suggestions for a long burial. Do you want that much control? Are previous "look" binds just good enough? Fine motor control over arms would be a first step towards a non scripted melee? Would it interfere with implementation of melee or any other feature, imagined or planned?

well your arms are going to follow a targeting reticle bound to your aiming device, in my case my 5600 dpi mouse. the torso will attempt to track and target the same spot but will take time to catch up once you are on target. if theres a look right and left function undoubtedly youll aim the arm in the same fashion.

If you'll look at the videos they clearly show torso/arm movement being seperate.

They are not separate ... according to ACE you move the mouse/joystick ... the arms track first and the torso lags behind.
But they are all linked. Its just that the small circle that shows arm targeting moves first.
