No need. Just get some yellow tape. Now, tape the screen on your phone. Now, write in 'PENDING'.
It even works, if your battery dies.

You have a app for your Pending status:someone in the forum made it (sorry but I don't recall the name to give him the rightful credits). Just search the forum or the android market (look for MWO). I've been using it 2 or 3 times per day, and its just fine... a little repetitive, but fine.
