Speaking of outlandish mech builds....

I just picked up a Banshee (3M) and was looking to do the Wub builds....

3 pages of assault mechs and the Banshee was only mentioned in passing... in one topic :(

Playing around in Smurfy I wound up with a 2LPL 6ML build using the stock engine and not horrible heat

...... but it uses Endo... AND Ferro

Group events are always fun.

Playing pub matches during group events is simply hilarious.

Playing the group matches is never the problem, what I was alluding too was the quality of Pub matches during the group events. A bag of rocks has a higher IQ than most of those people. (I am a donkey, but you cant dispute the truth of this.)

Dragon feels more robust these days, the pilots that were good in it before are going to be scary.

The 'Mech itself has become slightly more resilient, but it still doesn't feel like a heavy. The Quickdraw has the same feel / problem.

I've always felt I have more armor on 'Mechs like my Hunchback, but that may simply be because of its small size.

The Quickdraw and Dragon will feel like mediums, at 60 tons they practically are. A 5 ton upgrade from a 55 ton medium isn't going to produce a radically different playstyle. In fact my old Dragon had a very similar loadout to my Centurion.

For the most part, I when I look at a 'Mech I look for the three following things:
  • Can it mount an AC/20?
  • Can it go fast?
  • Does it have a small profile?
If it fails to meet the following, I really cant see myself using it.
Then again, I've bought and sold most of the 'Mechs in the game. The only constants in my hangar are all of my Hunchbacks, and Yen-Lo-Wang.

My considerations when choosing a mech:
  • Can it run enough different builds to cover several playstyles without having to buy a new variant?
  • How many ****ing C-Bills am I gonna have to spend to make it competitive?
  • Is it something I haven't tried before?
  • How many topless women can I fit into the cockpit while still being able to pilot it properly?

That can be a suffocation hazard in a few mecha.

Actually, the best way to die is instant vaporization in a nuclear inferno. You literally have no time at all to feel it.

I would have to say I do not agree on that one.
