Probably the Hunchback. Lighter mechs, although harder to hit, would be a bit of a trap considering they could get cored easily. Missile boats, as others have pointed out, are expensive, and Assaults are just big lumbering targets on the battlefield.

If this game takes place during 3048 then clan mechs will not be in this game :( The clans attack in 3050.

People say that missile boats will be in this game. Will they?

Raven just full of electronics! I'm really hoping the reward system plays a lot like the scouting in MWLL, where you get bonuses for "helping" teammates get kills by providing C3 radar and TAGing targets. I'll make maybe one or two kills a game, but I'll pull in triple my mech's cost by the time I respawn. The rewards aren't huge, but they're certainly as appetizing as getting your own kills in that Timber Wolf.

Raven as the primary,

Catapult as the secondary,

I believe you need to know both sides of the coin.

Exactly this. But now I've heard that the Jenner is quite good, so now I have to decide between that and the 'Pult as my Founders mech!

I think mine would be a scout type. Maybe a Jenner, or an Osiris, if they had one. Too fast to hit? Booyah. I could get behind that.

For me... down the line when more mechs are available

Light = Raven
Medium = Arctic Wolf (when available)
Heavy = Hellbringer (Loki) (when available) or Cauldron-Born if ever available
Assault = Stone Rhino (if ever possibly available) Otherwise Mauler, Mad Cat Mark II, Blood Asp, Warhawk, Kodiak

.... What can i say i love the assault mechs. I haven't seen a Stone Rhino in a game though since Ghost Bear's Legacy... miss that mech... its just so intimidating.

The Stone Rhino has shown up in games since MW2, just under its alternate name Behemoth. For example, in MW4: Mercs, the Behemoth showed up, along side a variant, the Behemoth II, which toted the infamous Rail Gun.

And I agree, assault is just plain fun. I'll take moving slower than a snail if it means packing enough firepower to level several city blocks with ease. You guys can go as fast as you want, If I get a solid hit, chances are you're going down hard.

Well I'm going to have a Catapult with 3 x LRM20 and 2 x Lg Lasers!

Actually a tough call. I kind of like a Jenner for easy money. cheap repairs, fast enough to get out of trouble and flank, plus it packs a pretty good punch.

how the heck would you fit that in?
or am i issing the sarcasm here ?

Sounds to me like there is going to be an abundance of scaredy-campers playing this game (LRM-boat pilots).

I hope in the game design, they have designed the maps and the objectives to encourage players to move around and go pew pew pew or this is going to be a snoozefest before it starts.

I have been playing MWLL for a couple years, and most of the maps provide a good balance of terrain and objectives that give us straight shooting pilots plenty of opportunity to hunt down and kill all the LRM weenies while they run away and poop their pants.

R U Guys kidding? We got four mechs to choose from in the Legendary and one for Elite, each with 25% bonus and 50% bonus to grind c-bills. Money maker = catapult. Stand back and launch lrms. There's your money maker.
