Shoot, I read this and thought it was a poll for Laser Anti-Missile System (canonically, LAMS).

Boy, I sure am disappointed! Guess I should've read the whole thing before getting trigger happy and pulling that vote trigger. :(

With the implementation of C-LRMs I think LAMS would be an effective balance tool, since C-LRMs are somewhat hard to combat. So long as IS also gets it, which could be problematic since the IS doesn't get it for 10 years.

Still voted yes, because I'd like to see the LAMS in the game.

Thought this was about Laser-AMS because of the title, but the topic is apparently about these monstrosities. No, there would be no logical reason why these Land-Air Mechs should be in the game, let alone exist. granted, maybe for scouting, but other than that i think they will be floating pinatas.

Yeah, I gotta throw in with the 'I thought this was about the laser anti missile system' crowd here too. Fortunately i did read the OP so I didn't make the mistake of voting yes.

I do kinda like the idea of Land-Air Mechs but they definitely don't belong in MWO. The laser anti missile system does though, maybe they could balance it with an overheat mechanic or just make it heavy. Either way it should have been here with the clan invasion.

I thought this was a Laser AMS thread too, which I fully support and I believe is in the current timeline.

hmmm land-air mechs.... Laser and LRM boats would have a field day. In mech mode you have an under powered machine that lacks firepower and armour for its size. In Aerospace Fighter mode you have an under powered machine that lacks firepower and speed for its size.

The fact of the matter is that while its a cool idea to have transforming machines, Mechs and Aerospace Fighters will always perform better in their given roles than a hybrid because they do not have to make compromises.
