It's already been confirmed to run on XP. I don't use XP anymore, for a variety of reasons, I actually use Windows 7 and have 8 GiB myself. It doesn't alter the fact that he doesn't need to dump XP, certainly not to run MWO.

then you wont be meching it dude im not wealthy either but i make sacrafices ie no smokes or drinking or hiring movies and a hundred other non eccentuals to support my hobbie, 100 dollars is a lot to some but make some adult based sacrifices and you can find the money or just stay with your current situation and enjoy your other games ps i do respect your decision not to spt illegal or bodgy repos

No XP SP3 support?

I'm not likely to pay $100+ for Win 7 to play a game when my other games run on XP.

No I won't buy a gray market copy nor will I just torrent a free copy.

A proper legit copy of Win7 is not cheap.

Because lag has nothing to do with your computer, that's why.

What is the lag due to then?

Your network connection, which is mostly likely a home internet connection via an ISP.

I'd love to invest some money into this game, but I need to find some settings that will run the game without lagging. So far I haven't found them.

We can't discuss aspects of the beta outside the beta forum, this already touches on it, sorry. Suffice to say there are some things you should be aware of and some things you can do.

As I am a senior working towards a CS degree, I wanted to clarify something I see quite frequently.

"Lag" is considered to be a delay from an input device to an output device. It can be due to either your ISP, OR from not having enough processing power, or a bottleneck in any other component in your computer. I saw a post of a person who said "Lag has nothing to do with your computer". This is false. When people ask for help with lag, many people immediately snap at them and, trying to sound intelligent, say that lag only means insufficient bandwidth from an internet service provider (ISP). Again, this is completely false.

I would give a direct answer to the source of the lag, but we're not allowed to discuss aspects of the game here. Someone else has already given an answer in the BETA forums, and it has to do with multithreading.

If any of this info is incorrect, feel free to correct me.
