This is a question about the lore related to a specific Mech, so I wasn't quite sure where to put it, but here goes: does anyone remember a bit in the lore about a force that exclusively used the Marauder? I seem to remember hearing something about that in the past, but I couldn't find anything as I was paging through the battletech wiki. It may have been a pirate faction or a minor faction, the only thing I can remember is that they only deployed Marauders. If anyone has any ideas, feel free to post!

yea it was a capcom unit that was using a company of captured Davion mechs

Millers Marauders. Good bunch of folks. Helped the Dragoons in their time of need and in gratitude and became the only unit outside the Dragoons fielding Marauder IIs that were not salvage.

There was originally a merc unit called Miller's Marauders, then later, around Clan invasion time, it became Barber's Marauder II's (though it was still a mix of Marauders and Marauder II's).

They were killed later by Jade Falcon around one of the wars, I think it was the fourth succession or FedCom war.

also the 2nd or 3rd McCarrons armored cavalry had 90 marauders and18 warhammers in the unit at one time

What I remember of the 3025 technical readout was a tendency in the history texts for many designs to highlight units omprised almost entirely of one mech design.

There were also other fun nuggets, such as a single Atlas being able to defeat an entire battallion of Stingers.

In the Warrior Trilogy (covers 4SW), i remember Andrew Redburn (commanding Delta company?) ambushing a unit that was all marauders and capturing them. So I'm assuming there was a merc unit running all Marauders

I know Kurita has a tendency to field companies and battalions of Dragons and Grand Dragons to punch through holes and exploit weaknesses in enemy lines.

Thanks for all the info! I feel vindicated now. I know the odds of seeing Marauders in MWO aren't very good, but since they're a personal favorite line of Mechs I'll hold out a bit of hope.

I'd give anything to see the marauder in MWO.
I'm not waiting for anything and not asking for it either, I know too well the problems linked to the copyrights of some things...But that would be sweeeeet !

there will be alot of mech designs you will not see due to the law suit with harmony gold back in the late 80's early 90's

Yes, i remember that, but it was not a mercenery unit, it was a capellan unit, not mercenarys. They were remnants of the unit garrisoning the planet that were left behind and started to make partizan attacks on the Federated suns Forces. Thats the ambush in wich they used mines.

Unfortunately (perhaps as a result of the suit), Barber's Marauder IIs were wiped out with Storms Metal Thunder fighting the Jade Falcons in 3064.

The clans came long after the fourth succession war was over.

Full company of Marauders? Sign me up. This has been one of my favorite mech designs since Macross.

I thought they had sorted that out, due to the Warhammer in the Debut Trailer.
