Fact:

Hot water will turn into ice faster then cold water.

I've heard that, but I seem to recall there was some argument about it. Something to do with ice from flash-frozen hot water being more disordered, or having microscopic pockets of liquid water mixed into the lattice. Something like that.

I just want to clear up one thing: yes, we are a mercenary unit, but for CW purposes, we have been taking contracts on both sides of the invasion corridor to allow all of our members a chance to use whichever type of 'mech they've spent their hard earned cash, C-Bills, and/or MC on. The way we're doing it right now, we will spend a couple of weeks fighting for some Inner Sphere lord and then we will spend a couple of weeks with a Clan banner.
