You should not hold hopes of any decent graphics. But you will be able to move around and shoot stuff.

Your RAM is fine and your 4 core CPU as well. I know as its the same CPU I got, although I have it overlocked to 3.3GHz. The only real problem you have is an older midrange 4800 card but im sure you can run it but an upgrade here would be good.

Here is a Benchmark of the 4850 with the card highlighted in red against tonz of other cards.

Edited correct card in link.

In short. Yes.

This game will scale far below this. I'm pretty sure you'll probably be able to run it (albeit in ugly fashion) on Sandy Bridges Intel 3000s because all MMOs do that for two reasons. Big matches with lots of players (so you can turn everything down) and the need to support weak machines.

Yeah the more people you cut out from being able to play the less money you get in the long run. Which is why most MMOs are made the way they are

You can run it, and I am sure you can run it at decent settings as well. I predict mid range settings, or maybe even a little higher if you are willing to sacrifice some resolution.

Didn't the specs Russ posted in the dev announcements put the minimum video card for ATI/AMD at the 5800 series?

I think you are correct, however, the i7 is a massive upgrade from the minimum required CPU. Im pretty sure the i7 alone could run this game with 2GB of ram and integrated graphics without a dedicated graphics card at minimum settings with low resolution. Maybe mid resolution.

How well it performs depends on how well MWO integrates multi-core support as well.

Thanks a lot man. I've really been looking forward to this game, but I was worried when I saw my card. My computer has been able to run nearly any game I've wanted to play fairly decently, usually on medium graphics or higher. However, it looks like I'll have to save up for a new graphics card if I want to play Mechwarrior Online. Any idea which would be a good choice? I'm not very hardware or software savy, so I don't know which card would be good in the long run with the setup I have

For a possible GPU upgrade there are 2 low cost alternatives you can look into. From Nvidia there is the new GT 640 with 2Gb of Vram for about 110 buck and the best cost per dollar card from ATI/AMD will be the HD 7700 which does cost slightly more then the NVidia card and is only 1 Gb of Vram

Would the ATI 7700 integrate well with the setup I currently have? I was reading up on it, and there's a lot of required specs to be able to run well with what its put into.

The 5830 is recomended, not required. Required video card specs are a 8800gt video card, which is less than your current 4800 video card.

Oh and BTW, Aegic, you could have the $1000 Core i7-3960X Extreme Edition Sandy Bridge-E six-core CPU, and without a video card, your not going to be able to play MW:O with decent graphics settings and get good FPS. The only integrated graphics I would try to use is in AMD's new FM1 socket APUs, which is the HD6530 gpu chipset.

WHOAAAAA MAN. Ninjacool is mistaken on which video card you have. You have a AMD 4800 chipset, not a Nvidia TI4800. There is a huge difference between the two. The AMD 4800 chip is much much much more powerful than the ti4800.

Minimum was actually the 5600/5700 series...the older 4850 (The weakest card in the 4800 series), outperforms the 5670 and the 5750, while being only slightly outdone by the 5770...so any card in the 4800 series meets the minimum for this game, or exceeds it marginally.

Sorry but no. your video card screws you. Any video card more than 2 years old will be too outdated for this game. You need an upgrade. But your other specs are fine.

That is really a matter of opinion. Besides, those 5000 series you mention are made for multimonitor support.
