i'm not saying its not. I'm just saying its sad how long PGI has allowed to last, and how long they've ignored player feedback for

Isnt it impossible due to that one coder leaving like ammo switching is?

It should not be, but then again ammo switching should not be impossible either.

I doubt its impossible. If anything they could just revert to the old asset of the nondynamic missile launchers. Since there are still games in game that have noncustomizable appendages like the stalker, i dont see any technical barriers to returning the catpult to its old state.

There are people still making new geometry on new mechs. If PGI still makes new mechs and geometry, they could go back and just edit the arms on the Catapult (even doing it from scratch). They just don't want to tackle it. I just hope they do eventually. Maybe once mevhs without geometry finally get updated.

Actually, code has to be structured and written so that code comments are rarely needed. If you need a lot of code comments to explain what you are doing, your code is probably crap. Of course, this is a generalization, and there are complex algorithms that are hard to grok without comments, but for the largest part of the codebase, an excessive amount of comments is actually an indicator that bad programmers are at work.
I know they teach otherwise at schools and university, but this is the reality I have encountered on the job.

Yes, but no. Of course having clearly legible code is paramount, but even the most transparent code benefits from proper commenting, if only because it can then be understood just that bit faster. Time is money after all!

Indeed, time is money, which is why the time spent writing useless comments is money thrown away.

This problem is so bad, the Catapult is being endorsed (me included) in a thread for PGIs most hated mech.

Who would have thought such an iconic mech would see such poor treatment. Sad.

I'm also suspecting pgi bougth the beta version of mechwarrior online and then started to work with that base, or maybe a lot of the original employers are working on other things or they are gone, but just by looking at the evolution of the game the theory gains consistency day by day.

Im so proud of every single catapult player out there or in the forums ...

I am guessing you intended the first part of your post for someone else? As for standards, they are not always followed or met in any field. Not that it makes it right, its just a matter of fact.

Whoops, I deleted my first post, cause it sounded sarcastic suggesting they hire... great I cant find the post someone out of work made. God, in my head it sounded ok, typed it, it... didn't read anything but sarcastic. so I referenced... my deleted post. God my typing was the bads.stoopidz.
Gah!!

Bad morning!

By all means, give them a financial donation in order for them to make the time.

And please don't take my snide remark as saying I don't want this to happen. The stupid VCR's are what keep me away from Catapults. Were they fixed, I would definitely invest in the chassis.

Ive given many a financial donation. I merely would like them to expedite the repair of a very bad decision made in 2013. So I can get back to enjoying the appearance of two out of four of my catapults.

"need to find time" - bovine manure. They need to stop *wasting* time.
