The crazy thing is that a year ago, no one would have possibly foreseen that PGI could somehow turn the release of clan tech into a PR disaster that would further push players away from their game.

I am honestly amazed that PGI was able to screw things up this bad.

I love the silence while they try to figure out how to un-**** themselves.

you notice they put this up on a friday, that way they have the entire weekend to plan how they'll dig themselves out.

Wasn't 3pv announced on a friday? and wasn't the (pathetic) apology that followed on monday? hmm...

well im glad i decided to jump from page 10 to 150....

R.I.P. mwo

I dont think i need to explain AGAIN that the reason fans are upset is that development on this game has been almost non-existent, unless it somehow directly makes PGI money, like these clan mechs. I never thought I would be upset at the release of clan mechs.

The real Project Phoenix, the real Operation Revival will be done by the company that buys out the franchise after PGI runs it into the ground. At least MWO has proven one thing, if its battletech, fans will come.

Remember - if you're like me and you're a legendary founder and an overlord package backer there is an important lesson in this:

We are to blame for not having Community Warfare or UI2.0 or any of the other features we really wanted in by now.

There is a reason I did not purchase Phoenix, opting to get the Shadow Hawks for cbills.

Well, I take that back. I DID purchase it, Talon level, with the plan of upgrading to Overlord if they did some positive things. They did not. I got a refund and unlike some folks, I stuck to that refund.

I absolutely made the right decision.

Hell, I still feel good about Elite over Legendary because 3 'mechs, no extra MC and my name in the credits (haha) isn't exactly a "double the price" value.

PGI probably thinks I never would have spent much money. They were wrong. I've spent more on games I don't even play all that often and absolutely not regretted it.

You are correct Tolkien. The only option left now is to stop giving them money until they deliver results.

Doubt that will work. The community is probably too fractured to effectively cut off the money. Even if it does, they'll just fold and kill the game if the money funnel isn't enough. I don't think people should beat themselves up for buying into MWO - it really is the devs fault. Most likely nothing on an individual level would have an impact - although, if you started a group on FB or something we could get some momentum rolling...

It feels kinda like Crowd Funding for an IP I assumed already had a stable economy, or at least meeting the metrics of the business plan early stages. After all, it left beta and launched 3 months ago.

Love the game, really looked forward to the future. Been holding my breath for Timberwolf, but this announcement has shaken my consumer confidence more than raise my excitement.

Just like Rob Ford.

First, it was just crack. Then it was soft **** comments regarding employees andhis wife and eating enough. Then it got worse when he actually managed to swear infront of a room full of 5 year olds.

and now there's rumours of heroin.

I think I've figured it out. Rob Ford owns PGI, and that's why things are as they are.

But funnily.... I still would prefer Rob Ford over this Wynne chick and her counterpart. lol Like, what about that guy who stole $80mil from charity? The media ignores that guy because of Rob Ford is "a more interesting story..." I guess trying a drug for what ever reason makes stealing $80mil from charity and O.K. thing to do. The media is blowing up the Rob Ford thing, I wouldn't get too sucked into it... I think Rob Ford owning PGI would have lowered the prices and saved us money ;)

When I see, AT MINIMUM, CW Phase 2 launched, THEN and ONLY THEN will I remotely consider buying a Clan Pack. Until then, shove off. Give us what we bought into this game for, then you can talk to us about Clans. Hell, AT A MINIMUM, give us the details on how Clan Tech in being implemented, what do the variants mean for us seeing as these are OMNIMECHS we are looking at. How is clan Tech and Clan Mech Building going to be done?

Jesus, you guys have GOT to throw us a bone here. What are all these items you all are talking about Warhorns? WTF is that. What special Modules. With your track record, you have little choice other than to be totally up front with us, and give us the information we want instead of staying silent.

This is deeply stupid, but I wouldn't expect anything less from PGI. Reminds me why I uninstalled this thing awhile back.

OK, honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if the folks now complaining about an available clan mech pack are the same who complain at the lack of clan mechs in game....

PGI - nice selection of mechs, love the look of them, nice work. Would have preferred two separate $120 packs, or better a pick and mix list based on $X per ton as is in place with existing hero mechs. But hey, bygones. Will I be buying? Probably, in a few months pending progress on other aspects of the game.

This is a great release waited for by much of the community, and for which I'm sure the silent majority is grateful. However - UI2.0 seriously needs to see some progress after missed deadline after missed deadline. It is getting, shall we say, frustrating.

The one thing I will criticise PGI for with these clan mechs - SERIOUSLY, a gold mech? Sure, for any folks with silly disposable income, do something by way of a collectors pack. But this is the best idea you guys could come up with? And at $500???? By far the stupidest idea I've seen in a game. Even if you don't consider the clans are supposed to be a martial, Spartan, minimalist society. Please, at least pay a little attention and respect to the background, after all, most willing to pay this sort of money will be mechheads, I'm sure they'd prefer something more true to the battletech background. Please don't ruin the look of the game with sodding gold mechs.

And should you ever receive a report for any of these idiots who say they would TK someone in a collector mech - please perma-ban their accounts. None of this 24hr waste of time.

PGI screwed up one thing. They made promises they couldn't keep. It's a rookie mistake from a new company, but they ARE however slowly, making progress. The rest of this irrational hate is all on your end.

Every time I see any new feature get released, I see some gratitude, mixed with "where was this X weeks ago, PGI sucks" mentality. It is sickening. You are among perhaps the most toxic Battletech community I have ever seen. So congratulations, you're a {Richard Cameron}!

IF YOU FEEL LIKE IT'S NOT WORTH THE MONEY, THEN WAIT UNTIL CW AND UI 2.0 HIT, THEN MAKE A JUDGEMENT CALL. DOING IT NOW IS POINTLESS, SO UNRUSTLE YOUR JIMMIES, AND SOMEONE CLOSE THIS THREAD OF VITROLIC DRIVEL.

I guess im paying into it because i hope they hire additional staff to actually get the other stuff done. Hell the only department this represents is the Art Department and as we all know they are the only ones who have been able to make their deadlines, and then some.... wouldnlt surprise me if the entire 3050 and 3055 TRO is finished and waiting on the other departments to catch up to actually code them into the game.

Besides that, a lot can happen in 6 months and I highly doubt that it will take them a full 6 months to get the assets primed and in game, so i really don't see this effecting the development of other aspects of the game.
