Join the Lyrans, we have heavies, assaults, and all the money you could ever have. Some of us will even forgive you for picking fights with us.

MMh.. Reading your description you may fit well with the Draconis Combine.. But i am not sure if our friends Nova Cats will enjoy the Coordinator's hospitality later in the years :D

EDIT: The FWL is a mix of different nations and people. Not everyone in the League is to blame for the Jihad thing..

Sigh, why did they give the Leaguers such a bad role after being ignored in favor of the heroic Steiner-Davions, the vengeful Kuritans and the crazy Liaos?

I'm sorry did we get CW and I wasn't looking? Right now in all honestly the only 'factions' that make one lick of difference in this game are the PGI defending golds and the people who have sunk money into this game only to see one letdown after another and voice such concerns, that's the closest thing we have to "community warfare" and will be for some time... Other then that, the "faction" logo is nothing more then a banner that means utterly nothing at all. Yeah so say the Lyrans typically had more assault mechs? It doesn't matter the way things are now... sides anyone who purchases the pre order for nerfed clan mechs come June will have access to all the IS mechs AND nerfed clan mechs, so really in the end the only answer I have to say to you is... it doesn't matter.

If you still looking for an allegiance not as a mercenary..
Davion have strong emphasis on professional military of their own, but you should know that they will merge with Lyrans in future - yet it's a plausible place to be.

And as mentioned before Kurita will have other Clan on their side, that makes thing slightly interesting. :D
Besides Kurita warriors engaged invading Clan forces most honorably do their emphasis on Bushido code. I'm still confused how will you engage Clan forces with refusal of Kerensky and seeking their doom. ;)

As for why one might want to affiliate/ally with the FedSuns, specifically:
  • Culturally, the Federated Suns is based on an Anglo-American model - in many ways, it is a lot like a mish-mash of the old British Empire, the current Commonwealth of Nations, and the modern United States (which, if that is or is close to one's real-world cultural affiliation, can provide a sense of comforting familiarity).
  • As a result - and especially in contrast to the likes of the Capellan Confederation and the Draconis Combine - the Federation represents a generally more "open" and liberal society - to the point that the leadership is publicly criticized and challenged by the media without undue worry of being snatched out of their homes and offices at any hour and ending up with a 9mm third eye or a sudden case of headlessness Posted Image.
  • Given the combination of the Suns' mostly-British social model and the Davion family's ultimately-French heritage (traceable to a region in southwest France called Gascony, as well as to the Counts of Foix), the AFFS MechWarriors are typically depicted as filling a role analogous to that of (usually, the romanticized version of) the Western European knight.
  • Moreso than the other realms, the FedSuns is usually depicted as being interested in the recovery and development of non-military technologies (as well as military technologies, of course).
  • The AFFS tends to have a fixation - almost to the point of obsession - and an affinity for the autocannon.
  • The FedSuns was the only nation to respond favorably to the Lyrans' proposal to try to reunite humanity under a common banner - the result was the formation of the Federated Commonwealth.
  • The current head of state, Hanse Davion, is basically what one would call a "magnificent b*****d". As an example, he addressed the most vocal critic of the Suns' nationwide education program (one Robin DeCaster) by making her the Minister of Education; "Now she is the one responsible for the government’s education policy and she’s the one forced to defend herself against the critics. It’s a beautiful example of how to handle your opponents."
  • The FedSuns is the home nation of the company that developed the Marauder - the Greatest BattleMech of All Time. Posted Image
Though, it's not as though the FedSuns is without its own problems - the education system and technological prowess begins to become less prevalent and effective as one moves away from the largest population centers (to the point that some whole worlds might more closely resemble the stereotypical later-19th or early-20th century American South than what one might expect of a 31st century interstellar federation).

Literature-wise, the FedSuns occasionally comes off as "the White Knight faction" and/or "the Mary-Sue/Gary-Stu faction" (though, for what it may be worth, Clan Wolf is as bad or worse in that regard :D) - in those instances, FedSuns characters can be portrayed as arrogant, haughty, overly self-righteous, and even outright bland.

Running to hide behind the surat skirts? If you wish the Clans destroyed, do it yourself.

Your argument contradicts itself. You claim to be a 'Clan', yet you also say that the 1:1 timeline precludes any deviations from Lore, including your so-called Clan Blood Scorpion. Not only that, but your absurd statement that the Commonwealth wins is clearly false. Where is your Commonwealth in fifteen years? The Clans outlast your own adopted faction by over five decades! Is that a loss?
