What FWL-oriented (built there or heavily used by) 'mechs are you REALLY aching to get your hands on, and why?

Lets say for purposes of discussion that anything up to TRO 3055 is fair game. Some of the machines in that TRO were designed years prior so an early introduction to MWO isn't entirely out of the question.

Not sure if its Timeline specific. But I would like to see a Firestarter or Buccaneer. (Those are listed on sarna.net's list of FWL mechs. But I still just love the lighter chasis overall.)

We have a lot of the premiere FWL mechs already but I would like the Firestarter and Hermes to round out the lights for us.

None.

We already have the Spider, and you eliminated the Marauder-9M.

Of course, the Marauder isn't going to be in the game anyway, but still...

I think he's referring to the recent dev video Q&A has the guy answering a question about the Unseen. And it seems like the Unseen mechs have a system to them. Those in certain legal categories MWO just doesn't want to touch for fear of igniting a legal firestorm, even if they undergo a redesign. Others seem to be more acceptable.

That said, I don't know much about it, if you see a relevant thread, especially one that breaks down what mechs the devs of MWO consider untouchable or unlikely to use, please post a link.

Thanks.

I thought it may be something like that, but for example the Shadow Hawk in the MWO is pretty much the "Unseen" Shadow Hawk. But now it's clear.

So no Marauder, Warhammer, Archer, Crusader, Stinger, Phoenix Hawk, Valkyrie, Wasp, Rifleman, Crusader, Longbow, Ostsol, Ostroc or Ostscout ...

Dammit!

So perhaps Scorpion, Tarantula and Goliath? But there are no Quads in the game.

Dammit!

I am thinking about what "good" 'Mechs could be used in the FWLM and at the same time are more or less typical ....
No Unseen 'Mechs ....

Guillotine - manufactured in the FWL
Grasshopper - common in the Inner Sphere

One of this pair.

Uziel and Templar are from 3060s, so they can't be in the game that takes place in 3051. Uziel is typical for the Lyrans, while Templar is iconic FedSuns design.

Mauler is not typical for the FWLM.

Good point with that Black Knight. While relatively rare, in 3051 the FWLM fields perhaps the greatest number of surviving Black Knight 'Mechs.

Yeah there is a factory in the FWL that does maintenance/repair/refurbishing work on Black Knights. They don't build then, they just help to maintain the existing number.

I'm kinda surprised that nobody said Grand Titan. Though after a redesign, it probably wouldn't look like Optimus Prime anymore.

Thinking about the existing lineup of FWL mechs in MWO. I don't think I've encountered a Trebuchet in a game in a long time. I've never driven it personally.

Edit: right after saying that I encountered 2 Trebuchets in back-to-back games.

Honestly, Grand Titan is pathetic. Naturally, you can customize it etc, but as it is, it's worthless. One LRM rack is pathetic for 100-tonner, and its primary armament is a pair of Large Pulse Lasers. That means weak firepower, high heat and short range. 400XL engine is fragile and every engine hit makes Grand Titan's heat problems even worse.

In theory, you could probably use three missile hardpoints (left arm, both side torsos) to turn it into missile boat - something as 100ton-Awesome or 100ton-BattleMaster. But as we already have those 'Mechs in the game ...

As the Wolverine will be available for those not willing to throw money at this game soon, at the moment I have nothing on my wish list. The Ost-Series would be great, but considering the legal problems involved, unlikely.

Guillotine would be good, though. Another Mech with history. Considering how the Orions and Thunderbolts turned out I wouldn´t expect too much of it, though.

Out of the more modern chassis, I´d like to see the Anvil. The Grand Titan I could live without.

It is my main Mech, despite its obvious disadvantages.
