I also sent out info through my professional contacts so hopefully that raises a little awareness and I can guilt a few into participating

Your a good man, I'm terribly sorry to hear about your friend, I will do my best to add to the list of donors through friends and family. A wonderful cause for a sad moment, I wish your friend well!

I have a friend that lost his mother to cancer and is now on the verge of losing his father as well to it. My prayers go out to your friend Ripper.

I may not be able currently to donate anything, but that wont stop me from helping to get the word out.
Ive added the link to my sig as well as updated my current sig picture to tell people to check it out. Hopefully someone will see that flashy piece of crap and stop by and check it out.

Not getting down on you at all for this post, just wanted to make it a point of education for everyone. There is something people can do for people with blood cancers that is not financial. Add yourself to the Bone Marrow transplant registry:
http://bethematch.or...arrow-registry/
I am in remission for 2 1/2 years now from Leukemia. I am very luck for two reasons.
1) I did not need a transplant as the Chemo was enough for me (very Rare)
2) If the Chemo had not done the trick, I am lucky I had four siblings in which one was a perfect match for a bone marrow transplant.
Im lucky because if the chemo did not work and I did not have a sibling that was a match, my prognosis would not have been good. The Be The Match registry is a place where ordinary people can have their blood and marrow tested and matched with possible people who need transplants. Your essentially helping to save someones life if you have a match.
OP, please PM me if you have any questions on fund raising and such as my family was very successful when I was in the hospital.

Still no change. Still no donor but he is remaining healthy. Time is running out though. Could be later this year or early next year that his condition would turn for the worse and become untreatable.
