I love it! As long as this makes the UI's current mechlab less complicated, I'll vote yes to it.

I voted yes and would love to see it but doubt it will happen, unfortunately PGI like the cbill sinks so would prefer you not have quick easy ways to find that engine or module you need to complete a build, in the hopes that the inconvenience will convince you to waste spend another 6 million on a duplicate XL engine/module

It's hilarious that people think that the difficulty to find engines and modules isn't intentional and designed to be a C bill sink. They have been told about it since the first tests and still won't fix it because it insures a steady c bill sink and now that you can buy Cbills for real money, it's even better from their side.

Eh, I'm perfectly willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and help 'em pay the light bill for another month and hopefully hire some more people. Private matches was a win, so I'm keeping the faith that UI 2.0 will be improved eventually.

Oh yes, this would be most beneficial. It can be a real pain trying to find your modules and engines when you don't know which mech has what you're looking for.

voted yes, but it'll never be done. the UI designer has some weird fetish with getting things done in the most convoluted way possible

Definately, tracking down modules can be a huge pain. That and Moving (F), (P), and (I) variants to the Hero bar and trials only to the trial bar are my biggest niggles. Well, outside wanting a Smurfy style building system, but that's almost unspoken default at this point I think.

I would love something like this. ANYTHING that makes using the mechlab any better. I thought using it would start to become natural, but it hasn't.

I kept hoping that updates would come to the UI a lot more regular after UI 2.0. But it seems to have pretty much been abandoned. Forgotten about for now because its not a hot subject for the moment.

I want LISTS and a sane way of outfitting mechs.

Or even the opposite... In the engine bay section, HIGHLIGHT engines that you DO have on other mechs instead of saying 0 with option to yank and move engine into current mech in the bay. example <click yes to transfer engine>.

I started the habit of just stripping all engine/modules because of the part hunting each time, especially if you stop playing afterawhile forgetting where everything is, easier to just rebuild (time consuming) when you get back. I tend to rotate around 3 mechs but sometimes randomly play a variant mech for a change.

This would help to reduce the number of clicks needed to move a module from one mech to another. I liked UI2.0 except for the fact that it increased the number of clicks and amount of time it takes to do almost everything.

So in short, I'm for this because it helps fix the only real complaint I had about UI2.0

Yes, but different icons, those don't seem to fit very well.

Yeh, that mockup was a quickie McKnockoff in PDN. (I'll tell you a secret, those're the standard module icons zoomed out with a non-Anti-Aliased neon green box around them.... shhhh. :ph34r: ).

Hopefully if anyone at PGI does eyeball this thread they can take the idea and make it prettier / neater. [serious face ;) ] Hopefully...... hope :wacko:

We should start another poll for FlyingDebris designed module icons.

I'd rather have it all listed down in the inventory - which items on which mechs, and all that. Can be condensed to say.. AC20 on Catapult K2 and Jagermech

Looks like:
AC20
--> JM
--> CPL

If the item is not mounted, it will look empty eg. AC10 --> 0
