Sitting across from the studio from me is a board with all the 'Mechs on it. In my crosshairs... the Highlander. More info to follow along with intended implementation date. Just giving you all a heads up.

What is to be nerf'ed?

It's fixes we need, not nerfs!

While it is clear that the Highlander is a dominant mech, IMHO this is more because of other mechs not being good enough rather than the Highlander itself being too good.

On a side note, a nice indirect nerf to the Highlander (and other jumpjetting alpha snipers) would be to change the jumpjet formula. Right now you get most of the kick from just 1 jet, and adding additional jets has a "diminishing returns" effect. How it should work is linearly. I.e. 2 jets should be twice as good as 1. 3 should be 3 times as good as 1. Etc. etc. He should have to mount all of the jets to get all of the boost. This would take up some additional tonnage and critical slots on the Highlander (and other JJ mechs).

Good stuff... but I'd go as far as saying it's the **JJs** that are the underlying problem, not the Highlander itself...

If he is pointing the nerf gun at a board full of mechs, then just shoot...

But if he pointing "the" nerf gun at the board full of mechs, looking specifically at the Highlander, he might want to reconsider...

I think the best solution to this would be to have an RNG implementation whereby at the beginning of the match you have a certain chance to get ejected from your highlander and tossed into a woodchipper.

the highlander used to have an easier to hit cockpit i believe, i havent been able to figure out the hitbox for a while it was my intuition that they had changed the hitbox on it, at least for the cockpit

As much as I would love to see the Highlander get some nerfs, please be evenhanded! It does seem like its "highlander alpha jump or go home!" at the moment, but I don't want to see this mech gutted either! Please more information!

Also: great to see PGI posts on the forums!

I hope you are looking at how Jump Jets work. It's rather aggravating seeing bunny hopping Mechs in addition to poptarting.

What? The Highlander does not need nerfing. You have already Nerfed it multiple time indirectly with Ghost heat PPC nerfs, JJ shake, movement archetypes and SRM's that you refuse to fix. What's left, cutting the armor in half?

BAH!

I guess the Victor will be next.

Paul, is there any way we can bribe you with cookies into fixing weapon balance instead of nerfing specific mechs? ;)

Just going back to the good old days of poking the dragon and running away.

Yes... JJs are being looked at and specifically the initial burst turn. And there are other Mechs on the firing range.
