So what happens when you take 3 Boom Jagers, and put them in a co-ordinated lance?

Well it did happen, and it was beautiful!

Oh yes, and I know about the ghost heat.
But there's just something very attractive about that boom, followed by 40 points of pain.

Too much cheese is bad for your health.

In all honesty, that does sound like fun every now and then

It's also bad for the health of almost every enemy under your crosshairs! haha

I like AC20 + AC10 + 2 Mlas a little better. More range, runs a bit cooler, can alpha strike for no heat penalty.

Theres a lot to be said for the 40 point 1-2 punch. I just think there are a lot better ways to achieve it than using two ammo limited 14 ton guns.

Lately I've been playing a battlemaster with a 40...2 PPC on one chest and 2 LPL on the other. 1.3 heat efficiency, unlimited ammo, close to full armor, 80 kph, and NO ghost heat. Show me a lance of THOSE.

It's in an odd place. It has a really big alpha for pinpoint damage but not overall. For just pure alpha it's not very powerful. I have laser/SRM builds that are over 25 and closer to 30 damage more. That much extra damage goes a LONG way to make up for not being pinpoint. Also for how much pinpoint it has it has a pretty low dps. If those AC's miss or don't kill a fresh mech it will get shredded fast by something with like 3 ultras.

That said even being very impractical all around it is very fun and a great finisher.

On the other hand as soon as you start firing the ac20s one at a time you get 10 DPs for practically unlimited durations.

Its not something I'd want to take out every map but of you want to be real sneaky with a few of your buddies it can be hilarious. :)

For pure alpha I have my DDC. I use him as a stealth troll. Hide behind a hill until an enemy gets too close, then step out and whack him in the ct a few times with the 66 point Alpha.

Jiggly, we should hook up with a couple of other screencappers and do a bunch of troll lance video's together some-day soon.

I just think it should be done!

I have a couple of wolverines in the 50+ alpha range. Absolutely devastating against the big stuff. YMMV Srms never "stopped" working for me

I prefer my pump action Jager, 2 LB-10s and 6 mediums...much faster fire rate.

Something like this?

SRM's are mostly okay for me too, and I agree, totally devastating if used right.
This is the funnest mech I own by far.

Since I already had the image linked from the other thread, I just did this in my SRM Shadowhawk that is at 54 dmg alpha:

My Orion is even more brutal with 4xSRM6 and 2xLL. It is a 66 point alpha and that is all arm mounted weapons lol.

On Ghost heat, Just forget about it. It is part of the game and can be nerfed with your play style.

*sniff.....it's a wonderful thing when someone figures out "interception successful" in an Atlas. It's how they were designed to play.
