hey guys, i didnt make this post to make a flame war against non buyers vs buyers. just be careful what you are spending your money on... i also wasted 60 euros on diablo 3 which i now regret alot on. wish i never did that.

i would gladly pay up if the developers gave us more information about what we are getting like someone stated earlier.. we dont even know what game mode there is in this game.

there is no reason to flame each other and give totally meaningless fanboy comments, this is the best game evah.

at the moment, we know nothing about the game. we are investing into a product we do not know anything about yet ( or not much)

I'm mulling it over, will probably buy it on the weekend.

Ditto. But mostly I'm mulling over whether to go Legendary or Elite.

I think it's just you.

The Legendary pack is debatable, the only reason to get it is if you really want all 4 premium 'mechs, but the Elite is clearly a very good buy. If you're at all interested in this game (and clearly you are since you're on the forums before we're even into open beta) then you probably would have pre-ordered it for $60 as a normal game wouldn't you? So the elite is basically your normal pre-order goody package. The only reason I can see for getting Veteran is if you don't have enough money for the Elite package.

it's a gamble, sure... but I went all in Vegas style

we could be getting trolled on an epic Legendary scale, but from what I'v seen and read, the devs are trying to do this right and they are staying true to alot of what drew me into this thing back when it was just a tabletop game... and if this really blows up into the amazing proportions it has the potential to, I want to be on the ground floor

just my thoughts, plus it's been years since alot of us have taken the reigns of a 'Mech

i did watch trailers, i seen all the videos, and tryed to gather all the intel i can about this game. but it is just not enough detail to really se what this is really is about. sure they have videos featuring every mech class, light medium and so on. but it just show us the same. running up close and lasing stuff.

give me more information about the game :D release more gameplay videos. anything. if i could get a solid feel of what i am about to get i would have gotten it now even. but waiting until the game is released in some months and then miss the oppurtunity to get elite pack?..or maybe getting an elite pack now and be very dissapointed when its released :S

This sums up how I feel too. Would like for this to succeed and be awesome. I looked any anything and everything out there about MWO and read the forums. So very little info about the game. Is so little of the game completed? Are they just so shorthanded they can't afford to market MWO? I watched a video and it was stated that there would be an open beta. But thats all that I saw about that.

I'm often told by friends and coworkers that my written comments can be "harsh" and "confrontational". But my friends and coworkers are all idiots, so what do they know? ;)

I've no hard feelings for anyone who posts on these forums, and apologize if I've given offense.

I would spend a lot more to have a chance at playing MWO.

I put tons more money into my comp etc. to play MW 4 and loved every time stepped out of the drop ship.

I hope they make so much money on this game it breaks records, triggers movies and makes it so MW lives on forever. Go boys go!

I say, ya should put out a tip jar…

MW fan since the first PC Game, reader of some of the novels and former table-top player; it was pretty much a no-brainer to me. Even if the game is total crap (which I don't think it will be), I don't mind paying for the philosophical idea that we need more MW games (and is it just me or is the BattleTech universe absolutely ripe for a movie series?). $120 is a night at the bar with a couple of buddies if I pick up the tab -- I'm certain MWO will give me more lasting value than one of our weekly bar-runs do.

Plus I don't get why people say there's a lack of information. I've seen gameplay videos, specifications for the mechs (including the Founder Mechs' default loadouts), even some NDA-breaking info elsewhere about what state the game is currently in. Even if they don't make any improvements over what I understand the beta to be (disclaimer: Not a beta tester. Wouldn't tell you if I was, but I'm not), I'd be happy for a while. Considering that there's now a great deal of pressure on PG to continue to deliver, I suspect that by the time Founder's access drops we'll be dealing with a pretty fun game with a few unpolished edges that will only get better as time goes on.

I think an open beta would have cured some of the uncertainties about the game so i feel what the op is saying to a degree its like buying a used car without test driving it. Atleast thats my understanding of the topic. As much as id like to buy a founders i think im going to take a wait and see approch. B)

I was all set to buy the $60 version, but after seeing the $120 option I'm much more skeptical about the whole thing.

Buying a new game on release day is usually $50-$60 (and has been since the mid 90s). $75-$90 is what I'd expect for a collector's edition with a few nice perks, but $120 for no physical game is a bit hard to swallow.

I still want an answer to if their will be additional premium mechs that will give the 25% cbill boost. I want a Centurion, not any of the "founder" mechs.

I was but I decided to get the Legendary. I was waiting for a game like this for too long and I want to give max support to the devs (also I could not decide for only 1 Founder mech!).

Being optimistic, I think there's so few leaks because no one wants to get kicked out come proper release...
Or maybe they just don't want to be sued for breaking the NDA.

I'd love to get a Founder's package.

but . . .

I'm a bit low on the minimum specs currently; I run sub-spec on a fair amount of things just fine, but this time, the money will be going into an upgrade, I think.

It's great that it looks like there will be plenty of support here. If I were sure my system was up for it, I'd go ahead, even without any real notion of what the C-Bill to dollar ratio or the cost of 'mechs actually is, what gameplay is like, etc. Pre-release is always tricky, although this developer seems to be getting things right.

So, unfortunately, I'll be sitting this one out.

I'm not a big 'fan boy' of the mech genre like many of the guys around here are, and I dont mean to slight you guys in ANY way shape or form.

I look at it this way:

I played that other *game not to be mentioned* for over a year. Most of that time as a premium acct holder. Dropped a few extra $ for a T-59..so all in all I spent $300-ish on the game last year and this. had a WHALE of a time in it, and still do with nightly stuff (you know of what I speak).

I got tired of it, so I ventured out into other games. SWTOR for 2 months ($60 + 2 mos premium) and D3 (played it for maybe 5 hrs. complete waste of money IMO).

This game seems to be the next thing that can hold my attention for a year+. For that alone its worth giving a try. IF it is the game I THINK it'll be, I'd much rather have a 'premium' mech in my garage than not. So if that costs me the retail price of either SWTOR/D3, so be it. I'd imagine the $80 of game money will extend any premium time by 2-3 months as well as pony up some hula girl on my mech's dash :-)..maybe fuzzy dice too haha

Seems to me, its on par price-wise, if not better, than most other games you'd play. If it pans out, great, I'll pony up more to extend the premium acct and have fun..if not, well I've lost no more than either SWTOR/D3 cost me..so why not

If youre reluctant to drop $ now, I cant blame you at all. In those cases I'd say wait till it launches, play it for a month. If you like it, go premium. if not, well there will be other games coming out very soon, I'm sure one of them would suit you and I wish you the very best at whatever you do.

Payday is coming next week. I'll be getting the FP then. :-) wife's b-day take priority ATM (self preservation instinct you understand)

I booked my holiday to match the 17th release ....

2 weeks from the 14th aug

Base founders inc 1 month premium.

Perfect!!!

Then they changed the dates :( i want to know when the premium will start ... can i choose?

If yes the i will def buy it ... if not ... its a bit of a waste.

Personally I'd like to know what the 'special' 'unique' mechs are before deciding to throw $120 at a game.

If I don't like three of them and I get the one I do like with the $80 version then I'll get that. Either way I'm spending something on this game that's for sure.

I guess I'm waiting to see if they have any GBP pricing...
