I was just in a match and I screwed up while in advanced zoom (still getting used to it). The red of an indicator fooled me that I was shooting at a real target early in the match so I let my AC2s loose. Obviously that wasn't the case, though I didn't end up destroying Nicole's mech, it obviously did considerable damage. Nicole is badged to Davion, so if anyone is in a match, please pass on my apology. I don't know what I can do to make it up, but I will do what I can.

Well we won, so that might have wasted the daily win on a crappy score.

sometimes a quick "sorry for the ff" will cover it. of course then everyone assumes you were the one who shot them in the back, when it was everyone else shooting them in the back. So it helps to be specific.

The game needs a big "WEAPONS ARE BLOCKED" type of indicator when there's something obstructing the path from your gun to whatever your crosshairs are pointing at.

What the hell kind of trolling nonsense is this. Damn guy's pouring out his heart in sorrow for hurting a friend and you come and rail on him? Get a grip man!

I think it would be a good idea to include a "Weapons Tight - Press {whatever} to enable" indicator that would be disabled via a keystroke. Have a toggle in settings to begin matches "Weapons Free". Newbie accounts begin with Weapons Tight as default.

I've had plenty of times where I'm surfing the forum, checking stats, etc., while gearing up for a match, and clicking back to the MWO window (multi-monitor setup) can sometimes result in an alpha strike. Would be nice to have a safety feature.

Obviously not the issue here, but a relevant observation nonetheless.

Yeaahhno. Not everyone who's been around for ages has used every module, even some of the older ones like Advanced Zoom, especially when said module is rather specialised for a specific role. I've been playing since mid closed-beta, and not once have I used Advanced Zoom, since I spend most of my time in a scout, and if I have to zoom in to see it, it's out of range.

The odd stray shot into a friendly is a rite of passage even the best players will tell you they have done it by accident on occasion, and often its because the other player gets blood rage and closes in for the kill crossing your LOS.
Apologgy in game is the best of course, PM is too weird and puts you into the I may be a serial killer category.
The players that shit me are those the run and gun thier team killing mechs and damaging on mass. Since that is not you dont stress but if it was......hell has a special place for TK's and platypus (As everyone knows they are responsible for global warming).
Though I agree the BS factor could be thick on this one

Don't pay attention to Badkilik. He has PTSD because everyone shoots him in the back for being a tool. Lol, a friendly tell saying sorry for FF is enough. We have all shot someone thinking they were the enemy. When your teammates are brawling it hard to see which triangle belongs to whom. When you are in zoom depending on range you can't even see friendly triangles.

Go to test grounds and practice a little. One go around on a map will help you.

That's a load of bollocks right there. I had the exact same thing happen except for my poor luck it was an AC20 that hit a superior officer and not a random PUG. It can definitely happen very easily.

Way to sour a decent well meaning post!

To the OP, kudos on owing up to your FF. Much respect for going above and beyond what most would do.
