You guys realize the thread was back from JUNE and the OP already brought the $120 legendary right? thus rendering this thread moot?

I'm sorry mate but this thread is 2 months old.Thats still curent. It's only necro when its a post from years ago.But if you lot don't like 2 month old threads being replied to then it needs adding the the forum rules. No posting in theads that were current before you join.
Oh and the WOT issue is a major one.
This game is so like WOT in its game style.
you start in low tier stuff, earn ,creds and XP to unlock better stuff(IE tanks(sorry mechs) and weapon upgrades,)and it cost creds to repair and buy ammo.,You can buy extra garage slots(sorry mech bays) with RL money, ditto extra mechs,You can grind your way up the tiers using the F2P mode(but there will become a point where the F2P gets impossible to do).It has to otherwise the makers will run out of moneyYou also have the stupid short ranges just as WOT which makes the bigger mechs a liability if everyone else is piloting fast medium mechs.
Once the initial revenue stream starts dropping after the initial rush then they will have to start changing things around to make the revenue carry on.So i see nerfs and buffs happening(just like WOT).I for one hope that this game is a good as expected.but i had high expectations for MWLL and that failed to deliver (for me). That had issues with one of the tanks being an awesome vehicle to pilot(i can't remember which one but it had 6 AC's fitted).I used to pilot that until they nerfed it as you could just race round legging the mechs.Brilliant fun it was but it was game breaker. So i expect the same sort of whinging and moaning once the nerfs and buffs start happening.Very like WOT again.
But the truth is this game is F2P up to a point but it quickly becomes a freemium game once the win at any cost's people join.I'm to old to care about winning nowdays so i tend to play these games for a laugh and to have fun and not take them too serious.but Unfortunatly i am in the minority in a lot of games.Once the freemium players start getting serious then for me the fun starts going.

If you can't afford even a Veterans then just wait for the game to open for free users. It is a F2P title despite how people act like you have to buy your way in.(That's only currently the case with an unfinished beta version of the game; not the finished product, which will let anyone signup and play; like League of Legends does) This game doesn't look like it will be bad at all to free users. It'll take longer to farm up for Mechs and weapons but that's pretty much the only drawback.(Again, like League of Legends)

To quote Russ:
Mechs at $15 each
3 months premium at $10 a month
$80 credits
4 garage slots
Founder tag
Name in credits
Thats $170 just in concrete assets, plus whatever ego value you add to the tag and credits.
Seems fine to me.
Yes Alex is right, if you do better research. And the proper math. The Legendary is probably where you will get the most bang for your buck. If you do the math on how much the atlas costs if you chose to spend RL cash on MC, it will cost you around 18 bucks. Plus mech bays right now are 300 MC which you only get the option to use MC to buy them. So you get 4 Mechs, plus additional 4 bays to put whatever mech you want in it.
In the end of it all, any of these founders pack pay for themselves. You should only make this investment if 1 you have the money for it and 2 if you play on putting the time in this game.
I got founders, as this will be my main game from here on out.

Well my biggest reason for leaving WOT is that the tanks are stupid overpriced, so this example isn't so great. Can anyone tell me where they get the "mechs are 15 dollars" data? I haven't read that anywhere. Whenever I want to get a new mech, do I have to shell out fifteen more can-buy-burritos-with dollars?
Absolutely not. The devs have made it very clear: you'll be able to buy everything in the game with money you earn by playing the game.

Hopefully those crafty Piranha devs wont come up with too much more awesome stuff or it will surely be the death of my wallet.

Not "everything", just everything meaningful, aka Mechs and weapons. From a competitive point of view, yes, everything. Game content wise, such as boosts or premium skins, no.

The good news is that whatever stuff they do add will be purchasable with MC, and you already got a nice fat discount on MC; 80$ worth. That will be enough for quite a few in-game purchases. You see later on a player will have to spend 80$ for that MC, +30$ for the premium months you have. That's 110$ right there and doesn't even include any of the Mechs, their exclusive skins, or the permanent boosts. We're all getting nice, sizable, discounts on Founders. Come 2013 everyone else is going to be jealous of the offer they either missed or just passed up.

To add to the above, the Legendary Pack will allow you to play a Dropship game with 4 mechs from the get-go, each with a per mech C-Bill bonus. Basically you'll be able to rake in the C-Bills quite a bit quicker than the Elite peeps and keep your $80 in game money intact.
Ahh, Dropship mode...Where have you gone?
