I had a personal best over the weekend in my R60 with 1 LPL and 3 ML's. 950 dmg and 3 kills. Won the match 12-10 with the amazing urbs taking down a TBR and KGC after being tied 10-10.

It's good to be overlooked.

I will forgive your energy-based Urbie, since you are using it for good.

I chased a Dragon completely around the Caustic Valley crater, everyone had a good laugh - but after I took both his arms off someone else got the kill shot!

I understand your perspective but you must agree the awesomeness of the urbie must not be limited by the likes of ammunition. Unlimited firepower is the urbanmech's...........destiny.

Anyone can suggest a good urbie build for the R63? I got a stock+ running but planning to upgrade package so I will have 2 of them and I got no need for 2 identical IS mechs atm ^^;

If you're running the other one Stock+, this one is pretty effective: UM-R63 (3xMG, 3t, LL, 2xML).

That is pretty much the same build I use (I have an ERLL in mine), on the 63. He's my highest scoring urbie, and I've literally out-damaged lances with it. (In one game I dealt more damage than anyone on the enemy team). Poke with the LL, and abuse your short stature to make sure any piece of terrain is great cover, and curb your instincts to charge in and stomp people to death. You'll do great. Once the enemy is in a rout, then you can close in, and let those 3 MGs sing their dirge of destruction.

the bonus one i just made a slightly souped up urbie std 100 ac10 and ML, the smiley face one i tossed an ac5 and a couple MLs in with a std 120- smiley tends to do better of the two. having said that the 60 and 60L are the better of the two (60 i have ac5 and 4 spls w/ range mod+ xl120, 60L is BizzaroUrbie w/ 4MG, LPL and MPL, xl125- kdrs over 1 in both, the 63 i'm stuck at .8ish)

It's odd, but the amount of success I have just trolling around with the heavies - it ain't terrible being a tiny heavy mech

yeah my best match was when i found two dire whales that were 1) moving forward and 2) staying together. immediately hooked up to them like the annoying little brother and went on to get 3 kills and 400+ dmg or so. they combined for 1 i think <whistles innocently>

my biggest problem staying with the heavies is 1) they keep stepping on me, 2) use me as a shield so i can;t retreat and 3) keep retreating in a staggered manner so i have to run into the next square before i can get enough space to get by them or (see 1)

I feel as if the 360 retention is useless? I'm getting shot in the rear torso when I'm clearling facing towards them. Clearly they're aiming for my butt all the time.

It's far from useless, it allows maneuvering no other 'mech can do. If nothing else, it allows you to run away at top speed firing behind you as you go :)

"I'm not running away, I'm executing a tactical advance to the rear at best speed Sir!" :D

But yes, the smart opponent shoots you in the crotch to ensure CT/CT rear hits no matter what facing your torso has - same as the smart opponent does with any torso-twisting targets.

Which can be at least partially mitigated with even the tiniest amount of serpentine running.

Best urbie is R63.

ML+LL+MPL+3xMG(3t) + AMS + JJ(4/4) + XL180 engine for 107 kph..... killer.

I love the Urbie, but it really could use a little acceleration boost (5%-10%) to be able to better peak and poke. Seems a bit more difficult to play the intended AC style fittings when you always gets 2 weapon cycles of ouch in return.

It's not supposed to be competitive. Just cheap and crazy silly to drive.

You dont poke in an Urbie....you setup shop right under there face where they cant see you and let em have it!

The Big AC's and slow Ubrie builds honeslty dont do anything for me and dont seem to fit MWO very well outsdie the lol factor.

LPL's and Mediums Lasers

Ac'2 and MPLs

ERPPC's and Smalls

That's how the Ubire wrecks face in MWO...I dont have a single Urbie under a 1.00 K/d (with the lowest being 1.45 and 54 games) and not a single one that runs under 101 kph and i have no problem playing the normal light style of hide and peek when other mechs are not looking.

LONG LIVE THE URBAN MECH!
