it's been tried and tested, not to be played like a brawler. a ppc for medium and long range, two large lasers for medium and close range, and 3 srm 6+artemis for mashing holes in idiots.

play carefully, an easy to hit head hitbox, low sustained dps, and the width of texas, you don't want to get in their face, and if they wind up in your face, drill the side torso with the most guns on it and hope for some luck.

The head flamer is a bit of an odd choice, but to each their own.

I prefer this build myself.

Nice, I've also got an multiple range AWS-8V build, but this one's a but more medium-long range focussed.

I dubbed it the "GUARDIAN" I still do not know why that name sounds right, but it does.

AWS-8V Brawler.

The 8V is best used as a short range brawler or LRM boat imo. 3x Missile hardpoints are kinda hard to ignore. When SRM hitreg gets a little better the above build will be especially deadly at point blank combat. I prefer to keep the shield arm fully armored as it adds to your survivability. Use it to soak up supressing fire like LRM's and such when closing the distance, you have wide enough torso twist to do it reliably.

I always had a soft spot for the Awesome despite it being generally inferior to any other assault mech in MWO. It not only looks cool but has decent hardpoint flexability between the variants to preform in a variety of roles. I wish it'd get some sort of heat dissapation qwerk atleast for the 8Q and 9M to help balance out the penalty of ghost heat and massive hitboxes. Those are afterall dedicated PPC boats both in tabletop and by hardpoint design.

Two additional ideas:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...9f216a68f2ccb3c wubwub Awesome #1
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...ef511ae61843304 wubwub Awesome #2

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...1b4fcb430070bab ranged brawler #1a
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...209ef1cae07753f ranged brawler #1b
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...91cc0995b685b13 ranged brawler #2

I like the ranged brawler #2 cause it is exactly what I run on my Griffin. Really, when it comes to running a brawling Awesome, you're probably better off with the 8R cause it comes with 4x 15 tube launchers.

That is pretty much what I'd want my Pretty Baby to look like but with the biggest XL engine I could cram in...

I usually run this:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...44330ed328a5d76

works great as a brawler and is even better when shooting fat targets (like other awesomes lol) or stalkers, atlas's, highlander's etc. keep it at range as long as possible then depending on how well your teams doing move in and put those ASRM6's to good effect. Its also got enough heatsinks and ammo to keep up sustained damage even on hot maps.

The other build i want to use is such:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...f1d1829433a1712

Multiple large pulse lasers and ASRM's are a superb weapon combo.

or if you want to annoy someone from affar with lots of kill assists (use your left arm as a shield centurion style):

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...084b706ea2034b5

(this is played better though by an 8T due to arm lazors like so: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...a3f50255ed7a68e )
