I've been getting a black screen on game launch (just before the lobby). Prior to the black screen I also see an icon in the top left of my screen (see below) - it's an upside down stickman with a half blue/half black background.

Has anyone else had this is issue, and if so do they know of a fix/work around.

I've tried alt-tabbing, changing video settings (all of them!), reinstalling the game and updating all my drivers followed by re-boots.

I run Windows 7 64bit with a ATI 7870, Phenom 8120 and 16gb RAM.

A mystery to me....

I tried both - to no result. I've played this game over the last year just fine but all of a sudden I cant get in any games. I've submitted a ticket but sometimes it's easier/more helpful to jump on the forum!

Latest - Beta Driver 14.3

I don't think it's the system.

I can log into the practice grounds and such - it's just connecting to games = black screen 9/10 times.

Got two serious issues that needed to hard reboot the pc :

- Screen totally freeze during the drop preparation, when countdown is around 10-15 sec left. Completely broke and freeze the display, but don't kill other apps running (like teamspeak). Can't ctrl+alt+sup, nor alt+F4 to exit, having to reboot.

- Blue screen of death when exiting game, either by clicking "exit" and alt+F4.

I however suspect other running applications (Firefox, Thunderbird) in the background to be a cause of these freezes (since disabling them seems to solve the problems), but it never happened before the last patch with those same applications.

Config :
Windows 7 ultimate x64
8 Go Ram
Intel core i5-2400 (stock)
Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti (stock)
Drivers 335.23 whql

Suspected bad RAM or driver conflict. Possibly bad PSU.

Run Memtest86+ from a boot disk. If that completes with no errors, run a stress test on CPU and GPU and see if it crashes, be sure to watch thermals. A driver conflict is more complicated and might involve using the windows debugger on your core dump.

Can you catch what the bluescreen says?
