I'm also in favor of the Raven 4X/Huginn (Huginn if you bought that is pretty much a straight upgrade from the 4X, as it's a hero and pretty much runs the same build. I don't run my 4X with laser backup, as I usually end up not using all of my 21 shots.)

My build for AC20 Raven is with XL 210 (because no money to go smaller and it's faster and better). I armored one arm but the other right arm is completely for shielding. It works well but you don't want to get in a fight with a dual AC20 Jagermech or something similar, as the shield doesn't absorb any hits (they go right through your arm and into your torso). I can usually end with one kill or more, and in one match I outbrawled two Shadow Hawks that were boating SSRMs. They shut-down extremely often and I had a chance to blow them both up.

Jagermech: You can run double AC20s and be pretty quick. It's never occurred to me often to only put a single AC20 on a Jager. I rarely if ever see that in the field either. I guess it's because a Jager just begs to be outfitted with AC40. I've tried an AC20 in one arm and an AC10 in the other. Maybe mess around with a single AC20 and only energy weapons. Blackjack: Never owned one but you can find a couple AC20 builds here and here

I'll have to rebuild it, but I did a lopsided Jager with AC/20 on one side and a pair of AC/2 on the other. Not fast, not well-armored, but kinda fun. Never had the stomach for going full BoomJager.

i only use XL so can't use torso AC20s - been leveling up the YLW pretty successfully in this 105kph loadout

4t of ammo is more than enough since the arm flies off sooner than later most games, and the ERLLas lets you sit back and snipe which is especially helpful when your armour is torn to shreds

I'll give you that. Though mine was built first (the Blackjack). Still hilarious the first kill with a twin AC/20 Blackjack was a twin AC/20 Firebrand (Jagermech)!

yeah i saw that guys stalker as well, pfft 540 ammo....what a noob to lrm 100..... never got to do what i wanted to do though......have lances with 3 atlases k/ddc and an lrm 100 stalker, and just PUSH across the map, atlas take the hits and, shoot down lrms, well.... assault with lrm 100 providing arty, WHO NEEDS STRATEGY
and you built the bj first because im a broke sob.... lol

For this I gotta give it to my Trebuchet 7K, I once thought I would never find a use for this mech! 90 kph is a speedy ac/20!

Upside to this over a Yen-Lo is torso AC/20. This mech comes with 2 Shield Arms!

^^ you have the tonnage for a 255, just a lil fyi, and i do second the treb as a brawler, its side profile is sooooo tiny, shoot and torso twist and you almost disappear although mine (stupidly) ran 2 srm6s and an ac/20, not exactly for those that want "fast"....

All those things are true of my BJ-1 (goes 93), except it has 35 shots which it often gets to take all or nearly all of.

For my money, the Blackjack is far and away the most effective "mobile AC/20." Of course, the Raven is lighter.

I'm shorter (never thought I'd say that given I'm 6'5"), and from knockdowns. Haven't got to try a Blackjack versus an Atlas with drop kicking. But a Raven is tried and true in Atlas knocking down power! O_O YAY!

....I can't wait for knockdowns. PGI needs to work faster.

I like the concept, but given that I still get awful rubberbanding when an enemy light gets close to me sometimes (my Ping is <100), it feels a long way off.

Under 100 ping isn't to bad - think you have that arrow backwards

I'll give my vote for the BJ-1. It's not quite as fast as the Wang, but the JJ give you a lot more maneuverability. High weapon mounts are also a good thing.

yeah i do occasionally see people lag for no reason, i remember a guy on the enemy team, 39 ping, lowest ping on enemy team, lagged more then a drunk and depressed person with Extreme mental retardation, AND THE RUBBER BANDING!!! i saw a spider like this earlier as well...

No offense - but you can put a 250 engine in there with almost no effort - http://mwo.smurfy-ne...0ca4462178891cb. Just put in ferro, shave a bit of arm armor, and you can fit in a 250. Drop down to 3 tons of ammo & you can get a 260. (with the 250 you don't need the external heatsink - and your heat is actually better) Personally - I prefer the 4H with a 260 standard & 5 smalls, but when I brawl I like to be within min PPC range.
