Ok so I've recently finally got 3 of my orions basic skills and 2 elited, is it worth mastering? , Do I lose any of the buffs or the x2 multiplier if I sell 2? I I'm thinking of selling the va and k variant because the 1v appears to be the superior chasis I don't want to regret it though by choosing the wrong one to keep.

You never lose progress for selling mechs, so you 2x basics are safe.
The only thing you're missing is the additional module slot for unlocking Master. (and if you have another Heavy mech with elite complete you can get Master without finishing the other Orions anyway, it's nay 3 elited in the same weight class)

Honestly I could be wrong but I don't see the use of most of the modules so I may not bother with mastering and thanks for the responces, Had not seen the thread shar.

Elite them all. Master the one you want to keep.

Eventually you reach a point where adding a bonus to cap-speed or a better zoom is the next step in increasing your skills - and the modules take a lot of GXP (and Cbills)
I don't blame you for not seeing it - it has fallen to something like page 4-5.
Felt less need to bump it after MiSs added it to her list.

I'll like to propose considering that when you master 1 mech you earn at least 3 mil cbills* while doing so. I do that before i sell any variants i decide not to keep.
*may vary, is conservative figure

^^ That, and get Seismic Sensor, then get "Advanced" Seismic Sensor. Very handy to have, especially in a heavy or assault class mech.
I don't take a mech to the field without Adv Seismic.
