Opinions!

Do you love it? Hate it?
Already have a favorite build?

Just got mine but haven't used it yet and would like to read about your experiences with our newest guest, the TDR-9S :)

Dual AMS is nice. Hardpoints aren't terrible. If you like Tbolts it's a fine mech. If you weren't impressed with Tbolts, this mech will not change your mind.

Surprisingly like it, upgraded to ac10, erppc, 3 ml and its a excellent support mech. Good at all ranges, but excels at med range beatdown, let the big guns take the heat and you dish out the solid ap dps.

I like my 9S. 6x MLs, 2x AC5s with 3 tons of ammo, 13 DHS, near max armor, STD 280 Engine with a max speed of nearly 80KPH.

Its a pint sized BLR with speed and I am loving it.

You can use it as a fusion of the TDR-5SP and TFR-5SS or treat it like a miniature BLR-1G but in either case your going to comming against the weight limit pretty hard.

I'm having fun with a dual ERPPC build on it.

Hardpoints are pretty good, and double AMS is always nice (especially when the mech has the weight to support it properly).

IIRC, I've been running a LPL, 5 MLs, and 2 MGs. It's a pretty beastly brawler that requires only a little care with heat, and it moves fast enough to get from cover to cover pretty reliably and to support the rest of the team wherever the enemy has made close contact.

The cockpit drives me nuts. I do not like that overhanging control panel. Even though it is in almost the same position on the stalker, I feel like I am going to mash my face against it every 2 steps.

Anyone else feel like the Tbolt is stuck in molasses?

I ran both my Tbolt and my Phract tonight, both with stock engines, 64.8 kph. The Thud felt like I was driving an Atlas, awhile the Phract felt like it was flat trucking.

One more reason for me to hate the MWO iteration of the Thud.

Well, to be frank, the Thunderbolt-9S has the torso twist reduction, which indirectly does make it slower than the Cataphract.

Even then, it's torso pitch is actually a bigger problem.. despite being the same as a Cataphract. The Phract doesn't really need it as much, but the Tbolt... it's a sad design.

I quite like it, you can do a nice variety of energy + ballistics builds, double AMS is nice. Needs its skills to become a bit more mobile though but hey, what Heavy+ mech doesn't?

It feels fairly mobile for a mech it´s size but i think i will use it as a down-payment to upgrade a newly bought Orion instead... Unless anyone can come up with a good argument not to. =P

It is a Thunderbolt...

...so it stays in my mechbay with 3 other friends till I'm so poor that I have to sell it for mechbay, but I'm _never_ going to play a single game with them.

64.8 is slow for a thunderbolt. my slowest thunderbolt does 80. one of the only advantages to the thunderbolt is that you can put a 300 engine in it.

I want to like it, but I have yet to find a build on it that I don't already run on my other T-bolts.

I gotta tinker with it some more before I pass judgement... also being 20 tons lighter than my normal ride takes a little adapting to.
