Slow cool looking light mech still equals a dead light mech.

Which is why you play it like a medium. You'd be surprised how much you can do with a small mech when you stay close to the team and try not to stand out.

only to those who can't think tactically.

People have been succeeding consistently, with Gauss Ravens and other slow Lights since before Open Beta. Sure it's not as easy as running a speed demon and just letting HSR and other registration issues armor you, but enough people have done it long enough to prove ti can be done.

I just realised the flame will be coming out directly above your head, that might look pretty cool. As for the mech itself, it looks squat and a little wide but i like that, looks good.

working on the game model in GB camo specs already. You gonna be dropping tonight?

Looks like a Jagermech-like arm mechanism with more range up/downwards.

Pretty interesting!

It looks really nice!

I am concerned about the hardpoints, though. With the broken heat system MWO has, Clan mechs are going to be at a big disadvantage relying on already hotter weaponry.

it is interesting as they should have no Yaw, since as an omni with PPCs, the lower arm and hand actuators are removed. But the elbow has a yaw coupling if you look.

I'm hoping the ability to switch out specific body parts on clan mechs will help with the hardpoints. Sure the prime only has the 2 energy hardpoints and fixed flamer, but you can take the left and right torsos from other variants to give the mech a couple extra weapons.

I wold assume like Orions. They have a large dark gray base, with basically the raised plates getting the 3 color treatment. Pretty much all mechs have "grey" actuators and understructures.

probably. Which is a good thing.

Even though XL in Clans require two section blows, loosing the side in one these will render half the firepower gone; seems to easy to hit. I wonder if the central part of the hood and rear aspects bleed into those corresponding hit boxes?

rather lose half my guns then get CT hit consistently on a light. Not enough CT armor to stand up to punishment.

This actually looks very pretty. I love the contours and glass of the cockpit. I am... less than pleased with the hardpoint spread, but the modeling seems to be the toughest thing to get changed in the long run for players, so looking good out of the gate is great.

They should give the Timber Wolf this treatment, instead of the playskool bathysphere look it has right now.

hoping the hitboxes come out something akin to this
Posted Image

Being relatively slow, being able to sell off bits of the mech like arms and side torsos will be crucial.

The Puma looks nice, but it also looks pretty big. I don't know if it's the angle of the shots, but it looks to be as big as a Catapult. PGI is probably going to mess up the scale like they have with the other mechs.

They managed to get the Adder correct, but not the MadCat. At this stage any 3d model is hit or miss.

Can't wait to see the devs and players complain about getting stomped on twitch in slow Light 'Mechs against thousands of 150 km/h light mechs easy mode streaks and lasers. Because obviously the Inner Sphere are the Clans now.
