[Listless Nomad]

Is there a reason that the fan creation section of this site was detonated with the recent forum overhaul? I'm all for tagging, and I'm all for the recombination of the general discussion forum, but why was the fan creation section merged? Each sub forum had it's own flavor, and dealt with very different media. Now it is a unusable mess. The fan fiction section has been completely destroyed, and its nearly impossible to find anything without subdivisions. By its very nature, writing and fan fiction is not a constantly updated process, and many threads can lie dormant for a lengthy period of time. Many are still being viewed, accessed, thought about, and posted in however. All of that cohesion and functionality has been lost in the merger however. Tags don't help as you cannot filter by tag type, so our threads inevitably end up getting mixed up and pushed further and further into oblivion. I know I'm biased, and I know that this comes off as whiny, but you have to admit that trying to find a specific subset of art in the fan creation section is a mess right now. I'm not sure why changes were made, as I was unaware of a great outcry to consolidate the art section, but it is my firm belief that it was a mistake, and that the tagging system is insufficient to compensate.

Kyle I know that this was done with the best of intentions, but the Fan Fiction section has been destroyed, and the rest of the fan art section is a catastrophe. Can we get separate sub forums under the "fan creations" tab once again so that things can be as they were?

For real, if the Clanners still get subfourms to play two hand touch while they think about Kerensky and how much better a mutant bear is over a green bird I think we should have a corner for out little stories.

I definitely agree with Nomad, at this point the Fan Fiction boards are the only reason I still traffic the forums. Although I confess now that I have my new rig I may delve into the game once more, it'll always be the FF boards and the people I've met there that will keep me coming back to MWO.

I would also mention that the Battletech discussion and Fan Creations are quite hidden compared to how previously are. This is the thing i have liked the least about the forum overhaul.

I agree CyclonerM. Overall I think they did a pretty decent job on the overhaul, but they missed on one or two areas. I'm hoping that this is indeed still under review, and we can get these issues rectified soon.

So MiSs has left IGP, and that means that the person who promised to look into this, is no longer doing so.

Can we get an official response from a new IGP member as to the status of this request?

I realize that I might not have gotten 100% of it but atleast 99 and if i missed anyones topics they can add it but I've gather more then enough to justify the creation of the RP section again. I've been patiently waiting as has everyone else for you to simply create a new section and move the topics over. Alas you have done nothing to even acknowledge this... if there is more to be done let us know we would all appreciate having the RP section back before we end up in 3051 again :-P.
