*joins thread, wants to read some exciting Star Citizen Stuff*

*sees ANOTHER endless discussion about flight model and whatnot*

*thinks: >Its not even an ALPHA!<*

/thread.

gj guys on derailing this thread, if I wanted to read more FM nonsense I would read the SC forums.

Yah, same here. I think between E:D and SC, my space sim ***** will be totally satiated. SC for the single player campaign and space pr0n, and E:D for the space sim and truckin'.

I thought 2014 was a good year for video games, but 2015 is shaping up to be...

....

I still can't get over the fact that Constellation, a starship probably weighting hundreds of tons, can hover with the thrust of a dozen of helicopter tail turbines.

Well, they do have anti-gravity in that universe, so it's possible they are tweaking the ships weight through other means to actually get it launched.

The V22 Osprey wants a word with you.

No seriously that thing can take of with 21 tons weight and is a design from 1989. I guess in 2942 they have pretty effective VTOL Engines.

I never play Star Citizen. I play Elite Daily. Until Star Citizen sorts out the ridiculous advantages mouse users have I will continue to avoid it.

And I want both of them to be great games.

I try to stay up to date on my Star Citizen patches. Once a month, even if I don't play.

For some reason it's downloading the full 22 GB. Again. At least it's coming down at a more stately 3.5MB/s, instead of the normal 1-2.

Ugh...

There is supposed to be a tutorial that is new. But if it's the landing on the platform one, I've already done that. I'm hoping they have some new content. Otherwise... ugh, what a waste of downloading time.

...

(mostly commentary free once it gets started)

Love the new damage model... while while looking incredible actually takes less horsepower to run than the previous version. New model is procedurally applied, where old model used traditional preloaded models/LOD.

Other optimization from recent patches reduced load times to ~20sec...
