Did you know that not only is Night Watch chock full of top notch mech jockeys and , but we have our own Armory and Testing Labs? That's right, we don't like to go into battle with numerical parity; we demand superiority! So stock up on Night Watch branded weapon systems; guaranteed to dramatically tilt the odds of a battle in your favor. Don't settle for Walmart house brands that will more likely blow off your own arm than turn the tide of battle. Use only the best gear available, from Night Watch Armory!

This is the first in what will probably be a series of videos

Welldone Heffay love the animation (must've taken a while to get the "expressions" done with the dialogue), and voice over is that...you know who? Also the DFA was a nice touch.

Thanks! The DFA is my favorite part of the video. Didn't think it was going to turn out, but the guys just nailed it. I used a small laser to "paint" all the armor off the Locust until he was bright cherry red in all torsos. Worked pretty slick!

I probably didn't use industry best practices for the animation part. I did the animation first, then did a rough voiceover to finalize positions a bit better. George Ledoux did the final voice work (/hattip), and I just pulled out/extended the parts between the sentences to fit properly. There's an advantage to using mechs, because you don't have to sync up the lips to the words.

I was going to use my wife to record reference video, but she got shy at the end and decided to not do it. Reference video is really the way to go though. It's FAR easier to make a character follow action on video playing behind it than to just create it out of your mind.

Hah! My wife said "why does the middle part of the video look so amateurish? Can't you just hire out that part?" ;)

Critics... I tell ya!

Oh I know that feel.

"No, we can't change the color of the mech afterwards..."

I think it's better if you learn it on your own, if you are planning a bigger and budgeting project...you will need distribute the work a bit for better results (and to share the load)...hence George L for the voice over. But overall I like it. I would've but some "TV Tuning" sound under you logo in the beginning, some other sound effects (ex. convey "whimpering" over the Locus in the middle during that animation), but otherwise I think you nailed it in my opinion.

Night Watch Mercenary Corp (nightwatchmercs.net, NYSE: NWMC) has been hard at work practicing advanced 12 man tactics. Enjoy this highlight from a recent match against some of the finest pilots in the Inner Sphere!

Special thanks to Spinward, SinisterSocks, and Red Scorpion for their help with this!

Not a Night Watch Armory video, but it was a Night Watch group drop, so I'll just shoehorn it into this thread instead of creating a new one. :P

New Night Watch Armory post!

For those curious about Night Watch Merc Corp lore, our home planet is Kooken's Pleasure Pit.

This is my first project using After Effects. It's orders of magnitude more powerful than Camtasia, but the ability to organize and quick-view things is a lot more limited. Still, it'll probably be my go-to for future projects for shorter videos. For longer ones, I'll just edit in AE and consolidate in Camtasia.

Ok, not *technically* a Night Watch Armory video, but... It's probably worth watching anyway! ;)
