Been thinking, with people moving over into private matches thus increasing the time it takes to make 2 12 man teams, what if we modify or add a second PUG Queue with smaller teams? Could go back to 8 vs 8 or even 4 vs 4. Less wait time, shorter matches, less conflict.

Make it not pug only and I'm down. Even if that means splitting it into a pug and team que for each size category.

I advocate smaller teams now because the MM would need to include less extremes in ELO (High/Low) to create a comparable average to the enemy team which would hopefully reduce the time to find a match as well as maybe reducing the number of lopsided matches.

Private can actually use smaller teams, I think right now it is limited to Premium funded only.

Aye but a system that randomly matched lance sized premades against each other for quick matches could be quite fun. My understanding is that right now everyone from both sides of the fight has to prearranged the whole thing correct?

Indeed, could be fun.
Right now using Private Match, you need a Team Captain on each side with active Premium Time as explained here to do any groups less the 12 per team.

Yep.
Might have been before you were here, we used to have 8 vs 8 in PUGs.
They beefed it to 12 vs 12 as more people joined.
Now with some players moving to Private matches and PUG Matchmaking taking longer, it would make sense to go down to 8 vs 8 and / or have a separate PUG Queue for 4 vs 4. Perhaps even for all 3 sizes.
