For what reason would I need to buy 2,3,5, or 10+ Mech's???
If I only wanted to play a scout would I ever need more then 1 Scout mech? Or do I need one per battle as it take 10 hours real time to fix my mech + all my C-bill's? Or can you only have one loadout per Mech?

Russ Bullock posted - This was refering to the $80 from the founders package

Okay a couple questions I see a lot of:

The C-Biill booster amount was stated somewhere I think the print below the different packages. It is 25% on all the Mech's

As to the Value of the MC...most people asking what that would buy in game.

The best I can do for you now would be to equate that to Buying Mechs

It is quite a bit, off the top of my head and SUBJECT TO CHANGE DISCLAIMER

You could likely buy somewhere between 8-10 Medium class Battlemechs at current tentative plans. More lights of course and less of the heaviest mech's in the game.

This can and probably will change before launch to some degree but I think it does show everyone, that in game currency will go a long ways to building your Mech Bay up with your favorite Chassis.

I believe you can lose mechs outright. You get critically "smashed", you lose your ride.

I'd say it's rather, "Do you want to?" If i'm a collector it wouldn't be hard to see why'd you want more mechs.

As far as how persistant damage and repairs come into play, nothing has been set in stone yet.

Russ posted yesterday that was not the case. It will need repair but you can not loose the mech or gear.

If you have played WOT you will see why multiple Mechs is a good thing.

If you are playing a match and you get taken out you will probably have to wait until the end of that match to get your Mech back in its unpaired burnt out glory... Having multiple mechs means you do not have to wait to get your mech back to play another match

Variety.

Also, you'll need to "level up" multiple variants of the same chassis in order to gain all the benefits of the piloting efficiencies.

I quit playing EVE because I had to wait 17day to get a new skill or 30days to build a ship. Real time delays ruins a game for me. If I only get 2 hours a night to play and cant becuse my mech is down until midnight. I dont see me playing the game to long no matter how good it is.

Honestly, i see my self having at least 8 mechs. You need to remember that your not buying a chasis, you buying a variant. So if you want a catapult with missiles, and then maybe chage to the ppc variant, youd have to own that variant. So its easy to imagine buying more than 10 mechs actually, if youre nuts like me at least.

As far as i understand it, it is like in WoT (yes, I know), that if you get destroyed in a battle, your mech is locked until that battle is over. But you can leave the battle and start another fight with another mech if you want.
And to unlock all boni for one single mech you need to get XP in all it's variants.
Oh, and of course because you can haz'em all ;)

This would make it too much like EVE online, which isn't F2P. F2P and there is a chance you could lose your rides each game? Not gonna happen.

This is incorrect, at least according to the developers.

Back to the OP:

Multiple loadouts and different hard points would be your main reason for having a variety of light 'mechs. A Commando is actually quite different from a Jenner, and you might decide that flexibility is useful.

You also might find that scouting is better done in an up-engined medium; you might also (since you have not yet played the release-version of the game) find that you want to explore other roles, or that scouting isn't your thing, after all.

yup thats right...with multiple mechs you can jump to another mech in case u die early in battle...this way you dont need to wait for the battle to end :)

I understand a collector but do I need a stack or mechs to play the game?
Do you need 5 Jenners or can I just have 1 Jenner with 5 loadouts?

That's like asking
"Why would McDonalds sell more then one kind of hamburger?"

"Why are there more then one kind of cars?"

Options are never bad.

Oh. You only need one for team deathmatch, but for the dropship game-type you will need four.
