I would have been a non-founder like you if I hadn't budgeted for it a month in advance! Sacrificed the dining out portion of my budget

I took one look at those prices and then at what the rewards were, some games have convinced me that the content I was getting was worth the money for me but here I feel that whole Flagship moment again if anyone remembers that far back. I'll probably get flamed by the diehard fans here but content to price is way out of whack for this game. F2P isnt an excuse to charge what a proven quality subscription game charges for a year for a few shiny mechs and a badge.

Was going to invest money into this...where are the "micro" transactions.

That's what makes the F2P model great. You don't have to pay if you don't want to. We are talking about "non-existent" items here. Their value is therefore largely subjective.

we're also not really buying items. What we're buying is the developer's paychecks

Interestingly enough their value seems more objective thanks to the video game industry and the "unspoken" standards they have developed for pricing content. However, its quite true, I am not going to pay for this and that's a wonderful thing, I still look forward to enjoying some nostalgia and filling in a void in my game time that has long been reserved for a good mech game.

I'm sure this has probably been mentioned many times on these forums, but, hey, if it wasn't for those willing to pay for a F2P game, heh, there would be no F2P game....

It's socialism at it's best baby, from each mechwarrior according to his means to each mechwarrior according to their needs....

(and before you all blast me...yeah, yeah, I haven't paid my founders money yet either, but I will soon...poor devs have to eat).

Yeah, that's how I saw it too. While I don't get play time nearly as often as I'd like, I REALLY want this game to succeed! And, with the F2P game, maybe a few extra coins going towards development will allow for a faster expansion (@ Dev: Can I get my Falconer...pretty please?? ) with more mechs and maps. If that's the case, the money is well spent IMHO!
